Tressel Pours Lies On Top Of Lies

Big whoop. ABJ will continue to cover ZSU as front page material. They'll continue to push the "big boys" and relegate the MAC as after thoughts.

When they make an editorial decision to put ZSU below the fold on p. 5, and feature schools that don't have a record of rule-breaking, then I'll be impressed.

For now, my guess is ABJ is sending Tressel chocolates, "Thanks for the bump in readership during these dull days."

Off topic, but I love it when you live out of state and run into someone else from Ohio. The first thing they ask about is the Buckeyes...as if it is a bond that connect everyone from Ohio. When you tell them you are not a fan, they get this confused, short circuited look. Then the follow up...how can you not be a Buckeye fan, you're from Ohio?

As for the Vest...the only people he is fooling are the legions of Buckeye fools. The rest of the country sees right through the BS.

Yeah, I was on the shuttle lot bus at BWI when a guy from Ohio did just that. My response is usually a friendly, "I'm a Bowling Green fan." Just to let them know there's a whole world they don't even know exists.

Unfortuantely, this guy's response was, "Well I went to Ohio U. But we're all Buckeyes!"

*shrug*

The Buckeyes are my favorite professional football team. Can't stand the NFL.

They're not fickle, they're hypocritical. There's no reason to be impressed w/ these editorials. The newspapers are looking to profit off of this as much as anything else.

These papers have ignored ZSU improprieties for years. They've ignored, often commended, unscrupulous and unethical activities. Now they're taking the high road? Only b/c someone got caught.

And what high road? They're not cutting back coverage of ZSU. They're not insisting that "win at all costs" is inappropriate. No, they're making a play to sell more papers even now.

When autumn comes around, they'll give every bit as much positive coverage as before. They may throw in a few barbs if they think it will sell papers, but they'll push for, promote and cheer for ZSU as much as ever. And they'll continue to denigrate as much of ZSU's competition as they can.

I just love the comments after these articles.

What???? Do you have any idea what you are talking about.

Getting an email, and forgetting about it is a mistake.......Getting an email. Replying back and forth with the sender. Hiding the information, and lying when asked about it is not one mistake. Its about a hundred mistakes.

If in my job I got an email like that and forgot about it. I hope my job would stick behind me. We all get lost in distractions. If I got an email like that. Replied to the sender multiple times, and tried to conceal that I got it, and lied when asked about it. Then I would expect to be fired.

It wasn't until I stopped drinking the scarlet and gray koolaid ten years ago that I realized how immature, disrespectful, and obnoxious a large percentage of Buckeyes fans are...

A decent city daily would be embarrassed that it got scooped by a national news outlet on the biggest story to break in its hometown in the last couple of years, and its editor would be raining hellfire down on both his staff and the OSU athletic department. Then again, the Dispatch would have to improve a hell of a lot to work its way up to decent.
