My dad, Jim (most of you know him), starting bringing me to Trojan games when I was 3 years old. When I was 11, as I was running around the rafters of Barton Coliseum, I noticed a guy who you may have heard of named Derek Fisher (my favorite all time player). From that point on, I was hooked. Thus began not only my love of Trojan basketball but an even more special bond between father and daughter. In 1996, we lost a heart-breaker to University of New Orleans in the Sun Belt Championship game. And, Derek went on to become the star that he is today. Well, now, I feel vindicated! Victory is ours! Go Trojans! It is long over-due!

Yes, Robert, it DOES. :) So, you DO know my dad. :)
I think he definitely does have a shot. Like my dad said, I don't remember a conference player of the year being chosen on a team without a winning record (which he had, of course, at the time he was chosen). I think that speaks a lot about him. Secondly, I see some similarities between him and Derek. For example, he seems to have a lot of ball smarts. Add that to the fact that he is quick, and I definitely think he has a shot. I hope so. He seems like a good kid.

Since the draft is only two rounds now, I don't see him being drafted (although I could be wrong, and hope I am), but he'll certainly get a look in camps to have a shot at being picked up as a free agent. But if he isn't, he can certainly make a good living playing overseas. And if he could have some great games in the tournament, it could give him the platform to be noticed by the NBA. I know we would all love to have another player in the NBA.
