Kourtney Brown is POY and Defensive Player of the Year. Prochaska's late season tail-off opened the door. Congrats to Buffalo. Cullop is COY as expected by just about everyone I would think. Brown, Shafir, Prochaska all make MAC first team- didn't see the others.
Rachel Tecca and Tavelyn James round out the first.

Great honor for Kourtney Brown and well deserved. She was also named Defensive Player of the Year.. only the second player in league history to win both in the same season.
=>BS that Maria Fantanarosa did not win COTY. Dirty politics.
It was wonderful to watch Kourtney dominate the last four years, especially during the run to the MAC Semis two years ago as a 12 seed. Congratulations to her.
I wouldn't say Prochaska tailed off. She had a minor injury, and her shooting percentages for women's basketball are still out of this world. Again like the men, we had several really good players that deserved to be honored.

Prochaska is a great player - for whatever reason, and I understand it WAS an injury in part, statistically she didn't have the kind of games she usually had for a stretch there- if she had I suspect she'd have won. That's all I meant. Certainly no disrespect to either. Either candidate would have been a worthy selection.
Congratulations to Kourtney Brown, I have really enjoyed watching her play the last few years. Since entering the MAC, I would say she is by far the best player that UB has had. It is hard to be a team leader when playing center, but she has been exactly that for Buffalo. To me, she seems like a better person than she is a player, and that is saying something (just watching the way she handles herself, her attitude, spirit, work ethic, etc,)
Kourtney is the best player in the league. However, Naama Shafir is the most valuable player in the league. Toledo would not have had a big season without her.
