Freaking Wimp Sanderson is at the Bart for the game.

Perhaps that is why the basketball was so bad, and our shooting so cold.
Wimp has been a regular at several games over the past few years.
I was there one night and in attendance was Jerry West, Gene Bartow, Wimp Sanderson, Sonny Smith, Jimmy Tillette, and Nolan Richardson. Now how many wins was that under one roof? That's not even counting the two coaches on the floor........What game was that MB?

Sax, I wouldn't know that Wimp has been to several games. I live 250 miles to the south of B'ham, have 4 young children and don't have all the time in the world to attend every game anymore.
BTW, what's your excuse for not attending games again?

The National Guard presence along the Mexican border has caused supplies to dip and his recreational costs to soar. Therefore no money for tickets.

I was there that night! For those who don't know, Gene works for the Memphis Grizzlies along with HoFer Jerry West.
Matt Coulter was also at the game sitting behind Gary. Does anyone know the story behind why Matt is not doing the games this year. I am having a hard time getting used to this new guy. I do like the addition of Steve Mitchell. He adds some nice insight.

Lee Moon and ISP doomed Matt.

Again. 03-yawn
If it were up to them, Matt and Gary would still be calling the games.

From conversations in Huntington, Wva last year after the Marshall game, the team (XCMA, Zimmerman, et al) wanted Matt to replace Gary after Gary's retirement.

Supposedly Matt was doing the TV for the game, maybe he just some of the on air stuff at halftime. I noticed him in the seats after halftime.

I do like the addition of Steve Mitchell. With the deal with ISP came the end to Matt. Matt wears many hats in broadcasting and likes that. From my understanding ISP deal with most of their play by play guys include other duties besides just calling the basketball and football games, more like a full time employee. Matt didn't like or want that. All the rest is specualtion what people have heard from various sources. This info is based on what I've got from various sources.

Probably Memphis, or OK state. Gene was there last night also, BTW.
Memphis two years ago........

I'm pretty sure it was OK State. Gene and West plus some long time coach at New Mexico State who works for the Grizzlies (I forget his name) was there scouting a Cowboy player. I remember hearing them on one of the radio shows the next morning as I drove back to Memphis.
West has been to two games that I remember now that I think about it. I know one was Memphis two years ago and I think I remember him a OK state. The Memphis game was the one that had all the coaches though......
