1). Women have their senior day today.

2). Men have theirs is it Saturday.

3). Women begin MAC tourney.

4). Men begin MAC tourney.

5). Spring Football begins.

RE: #2 and #4.

Dennis seems to want to really 'fast forward' on men's hoops, but it really can't be done.

It seems perfectly clear to me that until #4 happens and ends everything is frozen in time for men's hoops.

Dennis' question about a point guard can't be answered AT THIS TIME until we know who will coach the team next year.

Ditto recruiting.

When a program is looking at a coaching change all of the subordinate issues (e.g., who will we sign in April, who might not come back, who will play PG, who will be the go to guy next season, what will our schedule look like, etc.) are dependent on the coach.

And discussion of them now is almost meaningless.

No recruit will commit to EMU now.

Doubt Gragg would formulate next year's schedule with a coach who probably won't be here.

Coaching changes in the short term really HURT a program by putting the program in limbo.

I say for the next week enjoy the Senior Days and the MAC tourneys and then things should start to happen in the men's program.

There is a logic sequence to all of this.
Anyone doubt these things are essentially unpredictable.

Probably last November or early December I asked the IL recruiting guru about EMU in IL.

He said EMU was very quiet and essentially off the radar.

Six weeks later everything was a 180 as EMU started to clean up the MAC-level talent.

RE: #2 and #4.

My philosophy is why wait? What is going to change in the next 2 weeks or so? Will EMU win the MAC Tournament, highly doubt it! Need to get going in righting the Basketball Program, the sooner , the better.
