Volquez can’t pitch tomorrow because of visa, uncertain when it will be resolved

Edinson Volquez can’t pitch in tomorrow’s spring opener because of visa issues. In short, he’s not allowed to play in front of paying fans without a work visa.
The Reds went through the same thing with Timo Perez a few years ago.
Volquez came to the U.S. on a travel visa. He’ll likely have to return to the Dominican to get a work visa. The Reds don’t know when it will be resolved.
Volquez’s visa was hung up because of his suspension for using a banned substance.
