The EMU website has some nice snippet plays from a number of games involving Boykins, Zajac, Tolbert, Wilson, Dial, etc.

Great viewing...

For those digging back into their memory banks, former EMU asst. coach Brian Miller resigned as AD at St. Johns' high school in Toledo.

Wonder if Brian will be in town tomorrow?
Miller was here when they honored the 90-91 team a few weeks back.

If I REMEMBER RIGHT, HE WAS RETAINED ORIGINALLY BY BARNES AND THEN RESIGNED OR WAS LET GO.

He got fired by Barnes while the team was out in Hawaii for a tourney.

For reasons I do not know, Waters took a number of EMU coaches (e.g., Heck, DeSempler (sp), etc.) but didn't take Brian to Kent with him.

The transition from Braun --> Barnes was about as ugly as ugly gets.

Miller fired, players transferred, parents upset (and to get back to the thread one of the upset parents was Boykin's dad).

Todd Lichliter (sp) did something rarely seen in the professional world. He out and out quit without having another job in hand. (the normal 'rule of thumb' is that you have to have a job to get a job...).

Unbelievable as this may sound, but I had a parent call me at home (this is amazing as I live 500 miles from Ypsilanti).

If there was Facebook there was have been an ABM (Anybody But Milton) Facebook site.
Remember Lichlighter leaving. He once was quoted by a friend of mine that "Barnes was the next thing to a crook".

Barnes inherited a sound roster with a new facility to play in and recruited a lot of DIV II Jucos in his 1st recruited class, nonme of which contributed positively to the program. The mistakes we've made over the years could cover a whole book and then some.

Will the program ever get back to the glory days? Wonder if Boykins can help! He was the last of the Glory Days in my mind.
Boykins might be a former EMU but I suspect his allegiance is with Gary Waters.

The vibes I got were that Barnes and Boykins were not a good team.

BTW, there were rumors back then that Boykins was considering transferring (to Kent).

Ugh!!!
