I'm just curious. I've had a full night and a bottle of scotch to figure out anything good about last nights performance and still can't come up with anything. I know you super fans will set me straight on what I'm missing though. Please help

Last night was a really bad game. There was nothing positive about the game. NOTHING!
The difference between the Sunshine pumpers and the rest is that the Sunshine pumpers know that Memphis is the better team. We know that if Memphis plays Rice 100 more times, Memphis wins 99 or 100 of those games. Last night Rice played better, but they are not the better team. The fact that everyone knows this makes the loss more difficult to take.
This team can be good. This team should be good. They still have to learn to prepare for each and every game and to play for a full 40 minutes.
Everyone knows that winning on the road is something that does not come easy and there is a reason that teams with more upperclassman do better on the road. But, think about it. The 2 toughest road conference games, UAB and Southern Miss) and the last road OOC game(Gonzaga) were all good wins. This team can win on the road when they prepare, show up and play hard.
Watch some of the other teams in this league and you will quickly come to the conclusion that the Tigers are still the elite team of the league.
I really believe that the next 7 games will be victories and this team is a 6 or 7 seed.
When you dream, you can either have good dreams or nightmares. Given the choice, I would choose good dreams. Fortunately, I really believe in this team.

If you were a Tiger fan 22 moths ago, remember where we were then. It is a near miracle that we are as good today as we are.
Of course Josh has to learn more about motivating the team, for EVERY game, just like Calipari had more to learn more about motivating a team after coaching UMASS, the NBA and Memphis for 4 years ...
Most of this years team (which still may make the ncaa tourney despite its top 5 players being freshman) will be back next year and we will add a top 10 player who is more mature than most freshmen next year. Josh will make the ncaa at least as fast as Calipari did and possibly a year sooner ... The future of the program looks very bright despite what the trolls are saying.

3-1 2nd or 3rd seed in CUSA tourney, 4-0 win league and 1 seed in Tourney
At that point you will take no one for granted and hopefully understand whats on the line.
Thank you Ned. I also agree the future is bright. I have tempered my expectations for this years team.
5 freshmen lead in minutes. Very good year considering. Enjoy watching them grow up.

I think you can look around and see the ranked teams that were beaten last night, as well as the losses all thru the year, ck Coach X's on the road record in the sec, and you will have to admit that what is happening to us, isn't just happening to us.
I agree that our youth that is causing us problems now will be our advantage in the years to come.
Everyone wants to play great every game and have no let downs but fact is, it doesn't happen often to most teams.
Considering where we were, and what we had, I am quite satified with the progress we are making.
No excuses for our bad play last nite, or any nite but I am a realist and so..........
