You know, this guy looks somewhat like an Eric Page clone. At 5-10, 180 I could see him as a receiver like Eric. Not to demean him in any way, but at 5-10 another 15-20 lbs would be needed to make him really effective at RB in Div IA. What do you think?

Tell that to Marshall Faulk, Tony Dorsett, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Barry Sanders.
remember Wesan tait
Garret Wolfe
Refrigerator Perry
Rivals rates him #1 running back in ohio!!
Rivals has him with a 2.0 GPA. Could be a greyshirt or non-qualifier.

I'm going to guess that a number of the commitments will be greyshirts.
I'm guessing Gilbert, Sylvestre, Key, possibly Gilbert are all gray shirts based on grades, skill level, etc. Hopefully Gilbert redshirts to space out RB's

Same situation as last year. More signees than slots. I think that's a good sign though. All 2010 gray shirts came through except Foster. Does anyone know what happened to Foster? Did UT rescind offer? Was Foster a no-show? What's the inside scoop?

Go Rockets!

I gotta think they all weighed more than 180 lbs, though, didn't they? I'm not talking about his height...that's great for a RB. Chester was about 5-10 as I recall. I'm just saying that at 180 he runs like he could be another Eric Page right now.

(Garret Wolfe was no 5-10. More like 5-6.)

If his academics are iffy it might all be a moot point anyway. I hope it works out though. Wherever they put him the kid can really run.

I believe it was grades.

They all started college around that weight and by the time they left for the pro ranks they were weighing in closer to 200; except for Tony Dorsett, who basically dominated college football during his tenure- he stayed in the 180-185 range throughout.
As per the rivals top 50 Ohio players, two are now MAC recruits--Olack and Gilbert. If we get Sturdivant, that will make 3. That is right, no other MAC team has a player from the top 50. OSU has 7 of the top 10 recruits.
With the addition of Gilbert, Rivals now shows Toledo as the top MAC recruiting class. They have UT with 7 three star players. OU and BGSU have 5 three star commits each.

Toledo has done quite well with RB's who come in a little undersized. Not sure of their exact sizes, but guys like Trinity Dawson and Adonis Thomas weren't BIG running backs when they started their careers at UT. As freshman, they would sometimes be tackled by the first guy, or an arm tackle. By the time they were juniors, they would run through arm tackles and seldom went down with the first hit. Give the kid a couple of years in a college weight program and he will be fine.
Yeah. You caused me to look back through some old documents. Dawson came in at 5-10, 180, 4.5 in 2001. I can't recall whether he had any participation as a true freshman, though. I'm thinking not. He sure was a good back, though. He had such a great balance of speed and power.

If I remember correctly, Trinity was part of the baby-backs along with Astin Martin and Quentin Broussard, although Trinity may have been in the previous class and red-shirted while the other two played as true freshmen. They seemed to all be pretty small in stature. But, they were all part of the ad campaign, for what I believe was their sophomore seasons.
