Forgive me if this has been shared here, because it's old (from Sept, and before he committed) - but I thought it was cool that he had an article in Slam. Usually only the big timers get publicity there.

His name was tossed around, albeit never too seriously with the Illini, a couple summers ago and the kid is a gamer. Not sure if any of you folks have gotten to see him live, but I think you got a future stud.
Thanks for posting the article for us Bronco fans. I don't care how old it is. This Bronco fan welcomes him to the "family" and looks forward to seeing him on the court in the Brown and Gold.

Always proud to be a Bronco.
I have attended 2 games that Austin has played in this year. Against Hobart he scored 40 pts. Please refer to this thread for my observation.

I also watched him play last weekend against Munster the #2 ranked team in the state of Indiana. Austin struggled in this game as Munster's entire defensive plan was to shut Austin down. By struggled I mean he was held to a Season low 20 pts on 7 for 27 shooting from the floor. He was guarded by a 6'5" kid by the name of Joe Crisman (commited to Loyola) who made getting off a shot very difficult. Even if Austin beat Joe off the dribble, Joe's teammates were very quick to rotate. That's my uneducated observation of Austin. Probably needs to get stronger and improve defensively before seeing major mins under Coach Hawkins.

Those same words were used about Juwan Howard Jr one year ago.

Juwan had less talent ahead of him and as it worked out through the course of the season.

If DB isnt able to go then the freshman have a window of opportunity. But college buckets is about guard play. Those that are game ready have a chance. The others need and should take the time to get physically positioned to compete.
