After a really good weekend from Friday to Sunday morning, now coming up dry for leads for the remaining few scholarships.

With the possible exception of Glasgow (long shot?), I'd guess the remaining several signees will be surprises, players that are off the radar.

They could even be from states which EMU normally does not recruit hard.

I don't have the feel for any players 'falling to us', that is, players whom we were looking hard at but they were seeking the BCS offer.

Some, like Lockhart, seem to have found some BCS offers they like - they liked EMU but wanted, and got, BCS offers and will accept one.

My guess we'll have a few surprises Wednesday, but not 10 like in some previous years.

This year's recruiting really got to be fun once it heated up.

With all of the recruiting sites, EMU (and MAC) recruiting has become much more 'transparent' - in EMU's case check the SoCal JUCOs and Illinois high schools. 04-cheers

Maybe come Wednesday we'll try to ascertain why English apparently will give out only 20 scholarships instead of a possible 25.

The last 5 could be interesting too.

Fewer surprises = fewer plan 'B' and 'C' recruits for EMU. That's a good thing. Normally I think those surprises come because they had to take guys that were not on the radar when they could not get their original targets.
Another of my 'longshots' is off the board:

"Eckert also had scholarship offers from Connecticut, Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan and Michigan State had showed significant interest."

He committed to Indiana Sunday.

He would have been one of my top two OL prospects with Glasgow, both from IL.
On Rivals, Lockhart is showing 'high' interest in 3 BCS schools and "no" interest in EMU.

It's between Nebraska, Kansas State and Va Tech.

I agree with 'Nickle.

This is not a class where we're losing commits at the end and reaching.

It seems to be falling in place perfectly.

Maybe, we might still catch a kid hoping for a BCS offer and even if we don't I'd be glad to take the best say 3 kids who want to come to Eastern.
Hopefully this isn't a repeat of someone else's post. Rivals is now reporting Henderson as verballed to EMU:

just a few odds and ends (for what they are worth).

Still can't come up with a 'hot prospect'.

Two who 'blew up' and went big time - Frank Clark (CLE Glenville) to Michigan and Robert Lockhart to Va Tech.

We made an effort for a DL, Alexander, from Oklahoma who verballed to Tulsa.

There is a LB from Columbus in play among some MAC schools, including EMU. Forgot his name. He is the type of recruit who would be the 'high school linebacker' folks on the board want.

There is a TE from a charter school in D.C. who EMU apparently offered last year. He is not listed in a list of verbals by the Wash. Post. He played for a coach who played for English. I can't see him coming if Dylan Brooks is coming.

Brooks??? We'll know later today I guess.

Still no final word on Wooten from Florida. Assume it is FIU.

Don't know when Glasgow will decide but it almost certainly won't happen today.
