One poster over there wrote regarding Coles:

meaningless game? Really?
It aint meaningless if they are trying for a MAC 1st round bye.

Anyone know how long Charlie Coles plans to coach?
Read the game thread there, from some of the comments Charlie is turning into the second coming of Rod Stewart and not playing his bench at all.
I don't know much about the redhawks, but didn't they have some pretty significant injury trouble coming into this game? With three starters either out or limited it seems unlikely that there would really be that much left on the bench to turn to. I mean this is the MAC most teams only go 7 or 8 men deep. Hard to fault charlie for taking his chances with a tired lineup.
Quote:You think...Miami has had a coach for 14 years who has no inbounds play let alone the ability to develop a bench rotation....crazy....

Haha! that is like something straight out of "Hawkins!! He's Gotta Go!!!"

And they are talking about CHARLIE FREAKING COLES!

LOL. How many national titles do you think Coles would have if he were at say Kentucky or NC for the last 14 years?
Coles is under contract through next season, after which a lot of people anticipate he'll retire.
I know deep down inside that Charlie Coles was somehow responsible for our At Large selection in 1998, where we upset Clemson in the 1st round. Therefore, he has my fierce loyalty forever.
Mr Coles can come coach at WMU after next year.
Yeah, I don't think he wants to come here more often than necessary. Too much risk.

The tread has turned into a discussion on how much weaker the West is including this:
Quote:Thanks. Yes, when you've got a chance for the #1 seed, then maybe you ride the top 7 a little more (but just a little). I, too, love a regular season championship. By the WMU game, with Ballard done, Q out for a while, and Mav hobbling, it seemed a perfect time (below average MAC opponent, home game) to get the freshmen some game experience.

Gotta love how they call a team that just beat them on their home court "below average".
