When I was in high school, I had a record that had four comedy routines by Bill Cosby. One of them was about his Boys Club gym in Philly. When you stepped in the door, you were on the court (he said). There were hot steam pipes that ran around the wall about head high, so if you were doing well, when you went in for a lay-up, they would nudge you into the wall. Plus, the ceiling was 12 feet high, so (as Bill put it), "It clothesline time!" And if that weren't enough, there were loose board on the floor that only we knew where they were, so you would be dribbsling down the court, come to that spot, we would step on the other end of the board, and plink, away would go the ball and we would get an easy lay-up.

Bill said, "We NEVER lost a game on our home court."
