It did not go down like we had hoped, but I for one am ready to
embrace the New Coach. We need to realize that it will be new
blood statnding on that sideline next year. He could be better than
we all think--and he has been around some major programs with
major successes. Lets all get our Vigor back up and run with it!!!!

If you're going to criticize people of this board for supporting the team, then you should be banned. Criticize the BOT, PCG, the coaches, or whoever, but not the posters on the board. Nope I am stating if you blindly follow and SUPPORT what ever person the board throws at you then you are indeed disloyal to UAB. You should want the BEST person for the job not the person least likely to be a head coach anywhere in the country. Calloway was not even considered for 1-AA jobs much less our program. I wonder if they would have hired MIke Dubose if you people would still say you were SUPPORTING THE PROGRAM! Not much difference in my eyes.

I disagree. Junior doesn't want us to support Callaway. He wants Callaway and UAB to fail. He set CNC up to be a patsy. What Junior wants is for us to all get mad and pull support from UAB. Then we will die. So, it's easy. Support the UAB Football program despite Junior and his clan.
Callaway, good coach or bad, is going to try to win. I hope he does, even though he should not have been hired. The enemy is a crooked BOT. We could always fire NC later if we need to, but if we did, we'd have to repeat this awful process. We need to make sure that doesn't happen.

Either way you look at it, you are giving in to the BOT. If you support this mediocre coach you are giving in. If you don't support the coach, then you are also giving in.

Let me tell you about some other coaches that were not on anybodys list that turned out pretty good.
Jim Hilyer and Gene Stallings. Both were solid hard nosed X & O football coaches. Coach Callaway reminds me of those guys ALOT. Don't pull your support *(That is what they want you to do). DOUBLE IT! Dig down deep. DOUBLE YOUR SUPPORT, DOUBLE YOUR TIME, DOUBLE YOUR CONTRIBUTION. Show them that we are NOT GOING AWAY!

This is true. And, why don't we get smart and develop our own athletic booster foundation for OUR University. Granted, I'm not rich (I work for Uncle Sam), but we can get it started. Then, when this kind of crap happens again, we can have some financial input on who we want to coach. It's obvious money talks, so let's start talking. Divided we are chaff and thrown into the flames. But together, our individually meager resources are additive POWER.
