Also interesting to me is the fact that the Pens went bankrupt twice AND the NHL has the most teams listed.

When you say the team went bankrupt, its pretty inaccurate. Their owners went bankrupt. Mismanagement, or spreading ones self too thin were most often to blame.

What it tells us is that most of the nation could give a sh!t about hockey...

Well, most owners cook those books for tax write offs with the losses they really incur by running those teams.
