teams know how to win, and others how to play just well enough to lose.

Our women didn't play well early, but came back to win by 10 points. The kids who did nothing in the first half, put the petal to the metal to win. Not pretty, but effective.

On the other hand, the Razorbacks played a good game, had chances to win, but when push came to shove they couldn't make the plays. Is that coaching? Is that players? Some of both. I'll take the teams that can win ugly over one who can lose playing pretty.01-lauramac2
I didnt see the Lady Trojans play, but I did watch the Razorback game. It's hard to win on the road in the SEC. Ask Bama and Tennessee.
Especially when the other team is better, and they really were. Taking nothing away from the Razorbacks. They played hard and made some good plays, but at the end they went over 7 minutes without scoring, and winning teams don't do that. If they get all the players they've recruited. they'll be better in the future.
Already looking forward to next year. Great class coming in. Still have a lot of hoops left this year though.
They'll win some games, but probably difficult to make the NCAA which is what the faithful expect and demand. Pelphrey will get one more year to do the job. If they don't show a lot of progress by next year, he'll be history. Hope he makes it. I think he's capable of coaching at this level. Just needs the horses.
+1. This year, NIT maybe. Next year NCAA or Coach Pelphrey is gone. UAF is not timid about pulling the trigger. Even if he is a really nice guy.
Problem will be that next year all those great players will be freshmen, and might need more than one season to jell. He might be stocking up great players for the next coach.

Works for me. I really don't care who the coach is. It's The Program that is what's important.
I think that applies to most true fans of any program. The program is larger than the coach. Most coaches don't outlast a program. Maybe in the case of UNO, or where a program completely shuts down, but other than that, the program rules!
