BU is up 31 on Campbell at the break.

This is an interesting Belmont team, unlike any of the former Belmont teams, yet with many of the same prototypical Belmont characteristics (e.g., fundamental play). They're machine-like efficient on offense and play defense for about 70-80 ft. of the court. What separates this team from other BU teams is depth. They lose very little, if anything at all, in their 6-10 players.

Nevertheless, I really like our chances against them, especially at home. We're playing consistenly solid basketball right now, and our starting 5 have stepped up.

First thing is first, however, with DLU on Friday.
54-14 now. Their D is the best I've seen in the league.
The bigger they get the harder they fall.
Belmont wins 90-55.
Damn, they will be tough.
If we can't beat Belmont we can't beat a tournament team so we better be able to beat them. I am not at all convince that our team has played up to full potential yet. We`ll find out a lot on the 21st and 23rd.
Exactly right, if we cant beat Belmont, why do we think we deserve to be in the NCAA Tournament?

Lets keep things in perspective though. Right now we are simply playing to stay in the first two seeds in the Atlantic Sun tournament.
I'm not certain we can't beat Belmont
Let's hope Belmont has a Duke vs FSU night when they visit. If we beat LU, could 5,000 show up for the Belmont game? Ya think Bartow can get a good student crowd to come out and cash in on some of their student fees? Why doesn't Belmont have better home attendance? Does Vandy basketball have that much of a lock on Nashville? Or, is this just an indication of how bad the A-Sun is viewed where major league college basketball is played?

Me either, not until I see them play. Based on the history of the series and Byrd ability to run circles around our staff I have to lean Belmont's way. Whether we should beat them is another story and I`ll have to see what kind of talent they're working with for that.
