Summary from the Battle of the Best tournament held in Nashville, Tn in December-

Michael Javes, C, ACD- Programs are scrambling for bigs and he's going to get looks from every level of college basketball. A big kid who runs the floor, blocks shots and does the dirty work. He's a good, but not crazy, athlete and gives effort on both ends of the floor. While his offense is a bit raw, he does get to the free throw line and doesn't look bad from there.

Latest stats I found show him averaging only 5.9 points a game. However, the other 4 starters on his team all have offers or have committed to schools from the Big East, ACC, and Big 12. I think I'll take him.

I remember a couple of legit 7 footers we had over the years that couldn't be coached either. If they can't do something with their height, then they may not be any better than some of the 6'6" bigs we've had.
Is he 6-8 now? Thought he was 6-10.

He is listed as 6-10. To me, while he is still somewhat of a "project", I would be thrilled to get this kid. He is raw, but talented and athletic. If Big Joe can't turn this kid into a "player" it won't ever happen. Like LRTrojan, I'm not going to get too excited until they get to campus and I see them, but it does sound like Neighbour and Javes could be the guys to really help this program turn the corner. Two 6'10" kids with talent coming to UALR in the same recruiting class- that's almost beyond my wildest dreams.
You can't coach 6'10" even better than you can't coach 6'8".
