...but I'd like to see any liberal debunk it.

Quote:A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so
many others her age, she considered herself to be a very Liberal
Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in Favor of
higher taxes to support more government programs, in other Words
redistribution of wealth.

She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch
Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the Lectures that
she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she
felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to
keep what he thought should be his.

One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to Higher
taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The
self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to Be the
truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by Asking how
she was doing in school.

Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and
let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that She was
taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which
left her no time to go out and party like other people She knew. She
didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many
college friends, because she spent all her time studying.

Her father listened and then asked , 'How is your friend Audrey
doing?' She replied, ' Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are
Easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She Is
so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited
to all the parties and lots of times she doesn't even show up for
classes because she's too hung over.'

Her wise father asked his daughter, 'Why don't you go to the Dean's
office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your
friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA, and
certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.' The
daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired
back, 'That's a crazy idea, how would that be fair! I've worked really
hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard
work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played
while I worked my tail off!'

The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, 'Welcome to The
Republican party.' If anyone has a better explanation of the difference
between Republicans and Democrats I'm all ears.

If you ever wondered what side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!

If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat..
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for
everyone.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.
(Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!)
Don't kid yourself. The far right is just as willing to help themselves to your civil liberties.

Try buying alcohol on Sunday in half of Alabama. Or a sex toy anywhere in the the state at any time without a note from a doctor.
You can still buy your booze the other 6 days. Libs steal from you every day of the week.

And without funds, there's no beast to take anything from us.

There's a prescription for a *****?

BTW, I don't follow that line of conservatism. It's the fringe that supports that. With the liberals, it's ALL of'em.

So, the majority of Alabama is out on the far right fringe?

I'd argue with you, but I suspect it's true.

If a conservative doesn't like the laws of the state he lives in (laws decided by the majority of the residents), he moves.

If a liberal doesn't like the laws of the state he lives in he gets on NCAAbbs and b!tches about it.

This. I LOL'd hard at it!

Though, in South Carolina you can't buy booze on sunday either, so you simply plan ahead for your party needs! If you want a bloody mary on sunday...you buy your vodka another day of the week.

You can't be serious. You're posting in the right wing circle jerk called the Spin Room.
Plenty of fascist pinkos on here blowing each other.

You can in Aiken at a few places and in Bluffton. You can't in Georgia. It's T-Total BULL____. I can go to Wild Wings and get SOUSED but I can't buy it at a store and drink it in the comfort of my own home. Hypocrisy at it's best. Sorry Republicans, there is no other way to describe it. It's like how I can't have a friendly poker game in my home with money, legally, because they're "against" gambling, but I'm stuck behind some fool in a beat up car with missing hubcaps scratching off state-issued scratch-off lottery tickets. If you Republicans are against gambling, why do you have state lotteries? If you're against drinking on Sunday, why can I buy it at a restaurant? NM, I know why, the F&B business has a ton of lobbyists whereas I, an individual, don't.
Reb, I meant at a store, like a grocer's. You can get alcohol if you go to WW, or some such foodie place.... but in order to get the liquor license you have to serve a certain dollar percent of your total sales on food. It's absolutely insane to me that in this age of financial crisis, you wouldn't want to get the extra tax-dollars that serving booze and gambling bring in... but, what does lil' ole me know....

Rebel

No, you can buy beer in certain stores in Aiken and all stores in Bluffton/Hilton Head on Sunday. Can't buy it anywhere else in SC, from what I know.
I live on HHI, and.... wait, screw this place, I'm going to test this out! Harris Teeter, here I come!

It's true! I just raided the Teeter.

Rebel

Well, I may be wrong about HH, but there's a WalMart on 278 that sells it. I fish in the May River all the time. ...unless they recently changed it. ...and by recent, I mean within the last year. Your liquor laws suck though. Can't buy after 7?
It depends.... I know you can buy wine/beer at anytime, outside of Sunday. (Grocer's licenses allow beer and wine sales from sun up-sundown on Sundays, in some cases.) and you can't buy hard liquor at the store from 7pm-9/10am. depending on where it is....

This could be wrong, but that's my experience here. And the Walmart on 278 is in Hardeeville, and like a 20 minute drive from me... and I hate going to the mainland at all. Effin' Bluffghanistan. 03-wink

Rebel

Hardeeville is where we stay when we go. My friend's great aunt (dead now) has a house on Main Street. It's a short enough drive to make a day trip out of saltwater fishing for Reds, Trout, and Flounder. ...and the bait we normally net about 150 shrimp for bait and personal consumption.
