We all get to see the game tonight. CSS game of the week. Campbell's not a great team. This is definitely a winnable game. Two questions though for tonight based off the ETSU game: #1 will our defense step up? As another poster said, they had way too many easy looks the other night. #2 Will Markieth stop going right at a double team? He looks lost out there right now. I mean he'll put up his average most nights, but it's just not been pretty for him. While I'm at it, one more thing. We must cut down on the turnovers. They lead to easy points, and if the poor defense wasnt bad enough on Wednesday, the turnovers added fuel to the fire. We have to straighten it up. This isn't a talent problem. These are fundamentals of basketball that we're missing on right now.
I totally agree with the above statement. We have one play pound the ball into Markeith and everyone else watch. We have the fourth leading scorer in the league and the coach can't design any plays to get him open for good looks. Our coaches can't teach these guys how to play defense. We gave uo 45 points in the second half. The majority of our turnovers happen because other teams know where the ball is going. The opposing team goes on a 20-3 run and our coach doesn't even call a timeout. Has he given up on the team or does he just not care. I feel sorrow for players.

I begged my friend who doesn't even go to KSU to turn on the game just to see how horrible the O and D is. KSU runs what I call the "give it to Will offense" , from the Fresh Prince.

That is actually pretty funny. It is tough to be cheery about the team when we are struggling so bad. I think everyone shares a piece of the blame for our current slide, and I am sure our coaches would agree. It seems to me like all the players are not buying in to what the staff wants. Personally I would say that is a player problem, but in the end it is simply a problem that needs to be fixed. I am sure that our players and our coaches hate losing just as much as we the fans do, so hopefully they will turn it around soon...
That is part of the problem in my opinion Hunt. When you only have 5 or 6 guys that can play, what kind of motivation can you put in front of those guys to make sure they are doing the right things in practice and in the game? I mean if Markeith or Ladaris or Spencer act out of line, what can you do if you are the coach? You have to play those guys no matter what which makes it tough to show any tough love. Now I am not saying that any of those three players are causing problems, I am just trying to paint a picture for the difficulty of playing with a team with little to no depth. Heramb has checked out it seems, and Kurtis isn't around. We add those two playing significant minutes and we have a much different ball team.

Unfortunately you have to play the hand you were dealt...it just seems like we keep getting burned on the flop over and over again. Something good has to come our way eventually.

Now this is an idea that I can definitely get behind. Spencer is the one player on our team that I feel very comfortable is going to bring his best effort every night. 2nd in line would probably be Anderson...after that it truly is a crap shoot.
I like Anderson's game quite a bit. He has a nose for the ball and seems to have the high basketball IQ that coaches love.
One last note on Campbell is that they ARE a pretty decent team that has taken down Auburn and UNC W this year....so this is not a terrible loss, but my parents attended the game (they live in that area), and they said that we outplayed them for the first 25 minutes, and should have been up by more than we were when Campbell made their run. Doesn't make us feel a whole lot better, but that is some consolation to me.
Actually no...I have Direct TV....they don't carry comcast. I live in a small country town now...no Comcast :)
