My fingers are crossed.
Just don't think that we can offer him enough money to come to UAB.
Let's see---- Offensive coordinator at LSU or head coach at UAB? Plus making about the same amount of money?
At this point I think I would take the LSU job.
>
Again I say, we should have developed a fan base before Bartow moved us up to division 1A. Any cost increase in the ath department will have to be passed along to the students. Sad but true.

We didn't have a choice of moving up, the NCAA told us to.
There's a reason Fisher has been mentioned for the OC job at FSU as well as multiple head coaching jobs, he wants out of LSU, rumors are that he doesn't like working with Les Miles.
He's ready to be a head coach, few people want to be a coordinator forever, and even fewer people in an ego driven business like coaching want to let an opportunity like that pass him by.
Likely, the only thing stopping us would be money and the BoT, it won't be for a lack of desire from either end.

He will make a lot more money at UAB .(IF YOU DON'T KNOW THAT WE GOT SOME LEARNING TO DO)
His salary will be at least double
Double mY salary and move to a bigger and cleaner city
Tough question
At this point I WILL TAKE THE UAB JOB

so are all of our efforts zeroed in on fisher? (not saying that's a bad thing). Do we have a fall back plan?
Why would UAB be attractive over OC at FSU?

1.He would be coming to a school in a state with some talent,
2. He would be Head Coach
3. in a conference that is mediocre, giving him a better chance to succeed and - sigh - make himself more attractive to a bigger school while gaining HC experience.

It also has a ring of an attrractive hire to the UA fan base/BOT, as it weakens a divisional rival.
UAB's next coach Jimbo Fisher

Let me remind you of Alabama & Rich Rodriguez.

Sit back, relax, & let whatever process that is used work.

Can you say win-win-win-win? ;-)

Yay Jimbo!
Can someone tell me what sideline demeaner is like. Will we see those "I've been hit by a truck" looks like our prev coach.
Would NC State be considered a better job than UAB? Web blogs have been floating around about him being the HC there? I checked one of the NC State places and they seem to think he is coming here (yeah) and are thinking about getting the guy from Valdosta State. 03-idea

He calls plays from the booth, therefore we have no idea on sideline demeaner. I doubt that he could be any worse than WB.

I imagine he would try & get as good a staff as possible & let them worry about defense, special teams, etc.

UAB easily can afford Fisher. The contract would be set up like CMD's, lower base, but near $1 million in incentives via corporate sponsorship. Now that UAT and BoT have basically said they will pay $12 million, UAB SHOULD be able to shame the BoT into approving almost ANY reasonable contract.
heard that a financial package is being put together for the UAB HC position in the range of $600k - $700k with incentives to reach $1M (similar to what was done for Mike Davis). If the Co-ordinators can also get an increase, this would be great for attracting a new coach.

Jimbo is not staying at LSU past this year regardless of whether he takes the UAB or FSU job.

Boy, there's a real can-do attitude.
First, it's neither sad nor, especially, true.
I seem to recall the same things being said when Murry Bartw was shown the door.
How'd that one turn out?
