We need a sticky thread that has info and updates on the UAB football roster as players transfer to UAB or away from UAB as a result of the coaching change. Also it would be nice to see information and updates pertaining to the hiring of assistant coaches after the new head coach is hired.
Just a thought.

Who would transfer because we get a better coach?
In reality, I wouldn't expect too many to transfer at all. Maybe a few. Probably will gain more transfers than lose.
I counted 23 seniors on that roster for '07. This spring practice should be very interesting. Unless the new coach brings in some presently unknown QB, the battle this spring should be keen with Webb, Harkness and Hunt getting most of the reps. How do you see the OL and DL shaping up?
Don't count out Anthony Speight at QB.
It will be interesting to watch. If any players transfer away from UAB it could be for the following reasons...
1) player lacks discipline, new coach expects discipline
2) player doesn't fit well with new system (x's and o's)
3) loyalty to Pat Sullivan and a chance to play immediately at Samford
Does anybody see any mistakes on the roster that I posted? I did it in a hurry (copied from UABsports.com and quickly added 1 year to each player's experience. Changed Fr/HS to Fr/RS). Were there any other "older" players besides Nick Coon that were redshirted or did not lose a year of eligibility?

Any chance that Joe Webb will transfer over to Samford to play for Sully? That would be a huge loss for us for next year. I think Joe proved in the final two games that he can play at this level, but will he be upset that he didn't get to play earlier?
Any idea what Steven Brown is going to do?
I've heard he was staying... but that was right after the fact, so things could change as everything settles.

He'd be crazy to transfer anywhere, NFL scouts have already seen what he can do as a raw athlete, I doubt he would have the same exposure or chance if he transfered to Samford. I think he is our guy until further notice.
