Hey guys,

I've been a Blazer bball fan for a long time and I had the chance to see VCU play against my university this past weekend. VCU is an EXTREMLY athletic and quick team, and their system is similar to XCMA's. Their head coach (Anthony Grant?) really seems to have this team prepared to play, and they absolutly waxed a team that used the Princeton offense.

The fact that UAB doesn't play many players kind of scares me for this game becuase I think we will have trouble in the second half against VCU. They aren't a great shooting team, so if we are able to minimize turnovers and play solid D I think we will have a shot. Who knows, maybe this team remembers how to play against the XCMA system and they will find a a way to eek another one out?
Here's the really important question: Any television coverage?

+1

Improper response, as it conveys two, conflicting, thoughts. Does the +1 mean yes, there is television coverage, or does the +1 mean yes, this is a really important question?

I think you need to go on +1 suspension.
Can anyone say GNII?
To answer Gsonofcorky:

VCU should be a very close game. Our players are young but talented, and we don't have a lot of depth. But, after the road win at UC, and 2 OT games, they're becoming pretty battle hardened, which I think was CMD's plan.

Nope. +1Nazi would be way more accurate.
Pomeroy gives us a 12% chance of winning the VCU game on the road. He gives us a 13% chance of winning at Memphis and just 2% against Florida.
Holy crap, he gives us a better chance to win @ Memphis than to win @ VCU? That's crazy!
the tv question still hasn't been answered.
We are going to get our rear ends handed to us. There is no way we will be able to keep up with them playing 8 players. PD3 will not be able to play the entire game and if he does well...I don't want to see the TO column on the stat sheet.

My prediction:
VCU- loss
Old Dominion- win (toss up)
Winston Salem State- win
South Florida- win
Florida- loss

Going into conference play we will be 9-5. We will not beat Memphis or Houston this year.
i think we can beat memphis at home.
Only if they play us like the played Tennessee. Their shooting was off...way off.
Is anyone going to travel to the Virginia games? If you are I'd be interested in meeting up

Memphis is still good, but they're not as good as they were last year by any stretch. Carney meant way more to that team than just his stats. They're gonna have some rough road trips this year, even though most of their fans refuse to believe it.

Thank you TMCarty. I don't know why eveyrone thinks Memphis is unbeatable, just because they had one good year. Remember they are coached by the same man who almost had the NIT named after him, and until last year had only won one NCAA tourney game while at Memphis. Memphis had senior leadership last year and two very good underclassman. All of those are gone this year. They have talent, but not leadership. Calipari has chosen to recruit the players that will only stay at Memphis for one year, thus they will be a constantly revolving door of talented players playing one year. There will never be any cohesiveness for sustained periods of time.

This will be good enough to beat the majority of CUSA schools, but it does not make them unbeatable as Tennessee showed the other night.

Memphis will have three conference losses this year. That might be enough to win the conference, but it might not be either.

I find it hilarious that they claim Jeremy Hunt is their senior leadership this year. Yeah, the guy that "would never play for Memphis again." is gonna provide some outstanding leadership.

Neither are we. ;-) They have more than eight pairs of legs. If we beat Memphis this year (regular season) then a round is on me!
