Is there any way TCU can do like Nebraska did and move a year early. Can they buy their way out of the last year in the MWC. We need TCU ASAP! Come on TCU and BE. Make it happen.
Would be nice, but unlikely. TCU is going to help raise the competitiveness of the conference as a whole - plus recruiting in Texas is going to be a nice perk for Pitt.

i'm with you bro 02-13-banana:pbjtime:edsall couldv'e retired at uconn instead he goes for the money and could be out of work in 3 yrs like rrod will be..03-banghead

the state of conn has deep pockets and they will do it right here, they sunk a ton of money into uc onn fb...
Nebraska was invited in a previous fiscal year. that's why they can move early.
There is ALWAYS a way to make it happen if both sides want it bad enough and have enough dollars.

Not going to happen...Big East gets their BCS standings anyway to count.
If the BE wasn't so slow and made a move in June instead of November, then they would be playing in the BE next year. It's not like TCU's status changed much in 5 months.
Actually TCU is allowed to leave the MWC right now if they wanted to the Big East is the one stopping it.

It has nothing to do with when Big East invited them. Even if they invited them in June they wouldn't play until 2012 since Utah was also invited later.
I'm guessing teams in the conference already have their 2011 football schedules done, and they don't want to pay off a team to make way for TCU.
As a fan I would like it, but it would create a scheduling nightmare. As it is, TCU has to find 3 OOC games next year because we are hearing strong rumors that Texas Tech is backing out of next year’s game with us. We had another opening because the MWC will go from 8 to 7 conference games now that BYU is independent in 2011. We already had one opening and were trying to avoid any IAA schools. I am afraid that with 3 holes in the 2011 schedule will have no chance of avoiding another Texas State/Tennessee Tech type opponent.

Moving to the Big-East in 2011 would create scheduling havoc for all our former MWC mates, and everyone in the Big-East. As much as I would like to see us join you guys next year, it will have to wait until 2012 simply for scheduling reasons if for no other.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Big East team or two pop up on your schedule for next season to help fill those OOC voids. Just a hunch.

Syracuse has a full schedule (just added Tulane Home and Home)

What BE teams need games for '11 besides TCU?

BTW, if TCU needs a 1-AA I suggest adding Villanova.

Rutgers needs a game.
Rutgers could use the schedule upgrade too...

Why I heard McDivitt Elementary is available again.

It would make sense to have Rutgers play TCU...the game would get on ESPN too if Rutgers hosts.
That's hilarious... 03-lmfao

TCU-Rutgers is tailor made for the Meadowlands...
We'd easily sell out a TCU-Rutgers matchup at home. And I think we'd put a lot more butts in the seats than Rutgers-Army did if it were at the Meadowlands. I'm in favor of saying screw the 1-AA and add TCU to the schedule a year early.

That would be great. I hope this can be worked out.
Early entry into the BE by TCU doesn't do much for either side. As mentioned, TCU's rankings count for the BE, plus, the TV contract isn't up until 2013. Either way, there's no hurry. As Frog says, it would probably be more trouble than it's worth.
