certain there will be changes in the SBC within the next few years. With the cost of travel, some mid majors will probably try to locate conferences where the travel costs are minimized.
I hope we can keep Western in the league, but they could always choose to move somewhere. We're sort of caught in a bad situation.
We don't have football, for which some of you are thrilled, and the basketball only leagues in which we might like to be included, such as the Mo Valley, aren't open to us. The ideal thing would not be for us to leave the SBC, but for other teams to drop out, like the Florida schools, and other teams join, like Tulsa, ORU, Murray State, and maybe a Texas school or two. Tulsa would fit in nicely into both the basketball and football situation. I can't predict that any of this will happen. But I think our best bet is to remain in the SBC, and let some current teams move out and other more logical teams move in.
