That's not funny.
Pitt.

Gross. He would bring Terry Bradshaw on staff though. That would be ironic.
For what it's worth I saw that Larry Brown stepped down in Charlotte today. That might free up Hanners.
Someone not chosen by Dave Mullins.
Murry's not going anywhere

And we have a WINNER!
Goldfinger is correct...... There will not be an opening to fill.
I know, I know, an old debate with a fresh spin.

Ken Cutlip. added bonus Mister used to work as his assistant.

Why not bring in Dale Burns as Coach & AD? He had to have played some role in getting King up to NCAA D2. Maybe he could get the Bucs back to D1.

Now that is goooood. It inspired a real lol!
Maybe some of you who continually and constantly criticize and ridicule Coach Bartow should be considered as candidates. Some of you sure sound like you know a heck of lot.

Gene's baby boy probably knows a heck of alot (he would have to you would think considering his dad and Bobby Knight) but he can't seem to use that knowledge to actually coach so it is pretty much useless. Like I said before I don't think Gene's baby boy could teach a fly to land on a pile of horse$@!&
It's funny how high schools can come together for the famed Arby's Classic but ETSU can't seem to hold anything together like that. Hopefully there are many Bucs working behind the scenes making this tournament happen. I know ETSU's coaching staff are regular attenders as it's an easy way to evaluate talent.

BucsFan inspired a little investigation into the Dale Burns idea. The brains behind Arbys has clear goals for the tournament...

(1) promote basketball in the region, and (2) to expose the fans to outstanding players and teams in the country. The Arby's Classic has accomplished those goals and more. It has not only been a boost to basketball in Bristol and the region, it has been a boost to the area financially. Exciting teams and individual players resulting in packed houses have made the Arby's Classic one of the top high school basketball tournaments in the country. This is a tribute to Coach Dale Burn's astute selection of talented teams.

Although many local groups have assisted in the growth the tournament, no organization has given more time than the Viking Booster Club. Approximately fifty people volunteer their time with many of them taking vacations from work just to be part of the Arby's Classic.

Another group of people who have given special time to the development of the tournament is the Tennessee High Coaching Staff. The Tennessee High Staff gives up much of their Christmas vacation to assist with the tournament. Their dedication and hard work produce a class event with precision timing which appears to spectators to run effortlessly.

Much of the credit for the growth of the Arby's Classic has to go to our local media. Several visiting coaches have made mention of the tremendous coverage in our area. This is a tribute to all media-newspapers, television and radio. In addition, tournament games can be heard live on local radio stations.

Through the combination of these people, the Arby's Classic has become one of the most talked about high school basketball tournaments in the country, truly living up to it's name as a classic.
Reading the above post and thinking of some others I just had a horrible thought. Marky is going to grind Mister up like a christmas tree in a wood chipper if he comes back from his ban.

Chronic problems. Do you see hope that Murry will be able to lead ETSU to the next level? I think it's eight years...are you satisfied because this is as good as it apparently is going to get. There is a large body of evidence that suggests to get to the new level...ETSU needs new brains.

Being ambitious for ETSU involves risk. The new coach could fail big time. The question is if the risk is worth taking. Do you want to spend 8 more years of this? If you think this is good, you have your answer.

More than satisfied most of us would be if ETSU was trending up. Old people like me have had a taste of it. The fun of being nationally ranked is hard to describe...to look in the newspaper in the top 20 section and there is your school.

Your point about this being unrealistic is valid. The budget is small, players from our region our few and all the other liabilities athletics have at ETSU. Problem is, fans from the late 80s - early 90s tasted it... the thrill of beating Tennessee twice, being in the Omni in Atlanta knocking off Arizona...ETSU was in the big time. Never forget having more fans in Thompson Boling Arena than Tennessee had in the first Tennessee victory...never forget seeing Buc flags all over Asheville for the Southern Conference Tournament.

All the problems that existed when ETSU was in the top 10...still exist today...but it happened once. What is wrong with wanting it to happen again.

Frankly, after seeing some of the coaching maneuvers, perhaps some fans would be better...but that's not the issue. Removing the status quo and moving in a positive direction is what I'm talking about. Go Bucs!

Marky thinks Terry Bradshaw doesn't remember playing in the ETSU-Louisiana Tech Grantland Rice game.
