Collegiate Baseball News released their preseason top 40 today, with 4 BE teams making the list. Along with 1 future BE member. FWIW CBN typically does have a west coast bias, so three BE teams making the list is pretty impressive IMO.

I expect UConn to be higher in BA and the Rivals poll.

I know that TCU fans were saying that they were excited about joining the Big East baseball conference because it was much stronger then the MWC, but, wow, I didn't realize how good it was. We have 2 Top 20 teams (not counting TCU), St. John's knocking on the door of the Top 25 and Pitt sitting at #30. Very impressive. That's why I keep saying that the basketball schools should go with the flow and ride the wave. We're developing into a powerful all-around conference. We need a conference network badly. I mean adding not only a quality baseball team but the #1 team is impressive. I'm shocked that ECU isn't in on that list anywhere. Also, I can't find a Big Ten school on that list.
Yeah I am loving the look of that list TCU and the Big East is gonna be good for each other in a number of sports imo.
This number one ranking is clearly based on last year's finish and a very strong pitching rotation. The Frogs do have some young untested players on this year's team that only game experience will prove how good they really are.

The nicest thing about college baseball though is that at the end of the season, they have playoffs. Polls really don't mean much.
Cat what does basketball schools going with the flow mean and riding the wave mean? 80% of the teams ranked are football schools. I love that the BEast is re
cognized with good baseball. College baseball is great. I hope the new bats don't ruin the game.

I agree, but thankfully with our pitching rotation the position players will be able to ease into the college game without having too much pressure to be flawless right away.

We actually return a lot of the batting order as well, the leadership of Bryan Holaday is going to have to be replaced by someone. The question of who steps up and seizes that role is what looms large in my mind.

Kids will need to get things going early though with Cal State Fullerton coming to Fort Worth the 2nd weekend of the season, then a trip to Texas Tech (a Tech team that will almost certainly be a NCAA team this year IMO). Dan Law is always a tough place to take a series from the Raiders.

Exactly army that's what I mean. As long as the basketball schools aren't raising a fuss we can continue to have things like this instead of losing a Top 25 baseball or basketball team stay together with this "superconference."
