I'm officially excited.

Shades of Glen Mason...

Me, too. Read one OSU writer that made the argument that either Hazell or Fickell should succeed Tressel at OSU.

I can't wait to hear the news.

Broke what story? That there's a press conference? That news has been broken already.

Hazell is new coach.

If he is indeed the next head coach, here's Hazell's bio:

Yet another coach out of the great coaching factory of Cinnaminson, New Jersey.

Alright! I was never a OSU fan, but happy to have someone from an in state team with a winning tradition. Welcome Coach. Time to get to work, this season ticket holder wants to see a winning team.

Well, even if you're not a an tOSU fan, you gotta like a guy who Tressel thought enough of to name him Assistant Head Coach, as well as allowing him to call some plays in recent years (Coach Tressel has always called the plays, always....to the dismay of some fans)
I'm excited about the possibility of building a program with sound fundamentals and execution. Now, will Coach R stay on as D Coordinator?

I hope Coach R. stays; probably depends on the other opportunities he has.

He comes from Ohio, knows the high school coaches in Ohio. Has experience in the press box at a MAC school.. This looks very promising.

On paper, seems like a very good choice. I would have liked to seen some head coaching experience, but his local knowledge is something I really wanted to see in Kent's new head coach. The OSU fans seem very positive about it (for him, saying he deserved the job and hoping he will do well). I hope this works out...

Impressive credentials with Ohio State regarding the athletes who played for him. Has a good roster to work with here, so lets' hope he can teach these players how to be consistent winners. A commitment to establishing a legitimate running game would be a good start.
