(Leaving out non-D1 games)

SMU - up
St. B - down
Ill State - up
ORU - down
La Tech - up
Mo St - down
Tulsa - up
Ole Miss - down

Anyone see a pattern here? If this team can get a little consistency, they may end up being pretty good. (We are due to be up for Rice.)

I think going 4-4 against that schedule is nothing to be embarrassed about and probably exceeds the expectations most of us had. The biggest concern, at this point, is when we are "down" we are really down. To be honest, as a fan I get over a 30 point blowout much quicker than a one point loss at the buzzer. But we need to start being more consistent.

Ahead of where I thought we would be. We just have to improve as we go along.

Our real tests will begin when conference play begins. I think you'll see some different strategies in lineups soon. We want to win now, but Steve has to play kids enough to see who can do what when it counts and give the new kids some experience playing D1 ball. But I believe he'll make some adjustments in playing time and give us the best chance to win with the talent we have. I'm not discouraged at this point. If we start losing every other game in conference, then I might feel bad, but I have hope we'll do allright. One thing we have to do is get off to a better start scoring. We can't keep getting down 14-0 or worse every game and scoring 22 points in the first half like we did against Tulsa. We have to get off to better starts to win consistently.
