I'm not saying that this is fact, and I haven't heard anything along these lines anywhere. Coach Kill's health has long been an issue (I've been following him since SIU). The Mayo Clinic is about 80 Miles from Minnesota's campus. I wonder if there could have been other factors non-football related in his decision making process.
I think $5.5 million was reason enough to choose Minnesota. Hopefully, the proximity to Rochester never comes into play, and he can stay healthy for a long time.

I agree, it was just a thought.
The only other option he may have had this year was Indiana, but their offer would have been similar to what he received at Minnesota. It wasn't worth the risk for him waiting another year to see if a similar opportunity would become open for him.

Upon further review, the more that I think of it, having the Mayo's Clinic 80 miles away may be an unexpected bonus should his health problems rear their ugly head.
