Why did the BE office schedule UL-RU and UC-UConn during Thanksgiving weekend? Wouldn't it have been better to have UConn-RU and UC-UL (to go along with Pitt-WVu, BC-SU, and USF-Miami) to make sure everyone has someone they would prefer to have during 'rivalry' week?

Also, any ideas who TCU would schedule during that week if indeed it will be 'rivalry week'?

One of those games needed to be scheduled to fulfill the Big East Network game requirement, I believe.

SMU is TCU's rival, but I don't believe they'll shift that game back to the end of the regular season with them being in different conferences.
It's all about TV scheduling for ABC/ESPN.

Thinking like a TV executive, I'd wager heavy money on that the Backyard Brawl will continue to be on Thanksgiving weekend, while TCU-WVU will be on Championship Saturday for at least the next couple of years. TCU would probably keep SMU on Thanksgiving weekend.
I agree, Frank. The Backyard Brawl is set in stone as the preeminent rivalry in The BEast, and now that it's back to it's traditional weekend, it won't change...

But TCU-WVU would be a good game to end the season with. WVU has finished no worse than 2nd in The BEast for the last 8 years now (since 2002), and TCU will probably come into the conference as one of the favorites - if the Horned Frogs can replace their QB, Andy Dalton adequately next season. Their defense should continue the stellar play, as will the Mountaineers under DC Jeff Casteel...

That would make sense, wouldn't it? They did that a few years back & then changed it (probably at ESPN's dictate).

We have several options at qb for next season but right now the guy who is most promising is Casey Paschall. He has played some this year in relief and is young but with lots of potential. He actually played most of the New Mexico game this year. As for TCU's rival, the SMU game has been early on the schedule due to the fact that both schools are deep into their respective conference schedules by the end of the season. I think that the TCU fans are less enthusiastic about the SMU game than they are about Baylor or Texas or even Texas Tech. SMU is the only local Texas school that seems to want to schedule us yearly though. As a late season, in conference, rivalry I would like to see us play UL, WVU or USF. The true rivalries will come as the years go by and victories get traded. New Mexico was supposed to be our rival in the MWC and we had them scheduled on rivalry weekend but it never felt like a rivalry.
