I wanted Shafer last time around but it didn't happen. Tim Lester is also a very intriguing name as coordinator. I knew Tim growing up. We grew up in the same town and played little league together. That would be cool having him on our staff. It'd be nice to be able to dominate Chicago recruiting.
Shafer and Lester would be an interesting pairing. Defensive guy and offensive guy, both experienced guys, both know the MAC and have recruited the midwest. Interesting.
I have to say Shafer should be a LEADING candidate.
I love the Tim Lester for OC mention. Or even handle QBs.
Just because I LOVE the idea of Scott Shafer as our HC with a combination of Tim Lester and Jim Z. as offensive coordinator and/or QB coach, however it would fit best.
Scott may leave after a few years if he has success, and then you can bring in PJ or have Lester or Jim Z. take over if they're ready.
