Toledo & NIU only teams with 1 conference loss at season's end.

Wild season.

Doesn't Miami have one conference loss? And a MAC championship?

I'm feeling so much better.
Would have loved to see what Toledo could do against Miami.....could be a good game. NIU fans will admit that they consider Toledo a huge game and they came all out for the game against Toledo and UT did not. Not sure if Toledo is the 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th best team in the MAC. It's just too hard to say.

Yeah, we beat Ohio at their place, but they improved over the season and so did Toledo. Once Terrance Owens came in at QB our offense woke up. CMU found that out last week when they gave up 42 points against them. This was not the same offense that struggled to score 20 at Ohio.

About all we can say at this point is that Miami won the MACC Game and that makes them the best team in the conference. The rest......is all debatable.

Being that the MAC West was 12-7 against the MAC East, I think it is pretty obvious which division is better.
Doesn't this all mean that Kent St. is MAC champion? Will Miami see that we get rings?

Depends on what the overall cross-divisional record was this year (I don't know what it is).

What was proven tonight is that the MAC East champ outplayed the MAC West champ and won, a sort of 2008 deja vu.

Yes, but now they have to rehire Martin who, on the strength of his championship season, will immediately leave to take the Indiana job.

Actually no. 14 points came in kickoff returns, your O scored 28. Not a great showing by our D but not 42 points worth.

What was proven tonight is NIU will rethink its tip drill for next season...
What was proven is NIU cannot be counted on to win anything in this Conference.
Heaven help you if you want NIU to represent the Conference in any sport.

While that is true, it's part of our scoring. Between Page and Reedy they returned 3 kickoffs for TD's and another 4 or 5 kicks past mid-field this year.

But you're right, our offense only scored 28 against CMU. The same CMU that only gave up 13 points to Temple, and kept that high-powered NIU offense under their average. If Toledo would have played CMU earlier in the year, we would have struggled to score 10 points. And it should be noted that despite scoring 20 at Ohio (the other game I used as an example), our defense gave us the ball inside the Ohio 5 yard line twice because of getting turnovers.

The Rocket K/O returns for TD's were the only ones CMU gave up this season and accounted for about 190 yds. Add that to over 400 yds of Offense UT had against CMU that's alot of turf. UT with Dantin at QB rolled up almost 400 yds and 34 points against Kent State, the MAC's #1 Defense. UT's Offense ability is understated for the season because of the K/O return yardage/TD's and short fields due to opponent turnovers. UT is #2 in the nation in turnover margin right behind Va. Tech and #12 in K/O returns.
