Apparently ASU (and the PAC-10) will appeal the ruling that only one FCS win counts towards the 6 needed for eligibility if they beat AZ tonight to get to 6-6. They originally had San Jose St on the schedule but SJSU dropped them to play a money game at Wisky. Since it was last minute they were only able to get Portland State as a replacement. As a result, poor ASU thinks they should be granted an exception.

Yet another reason to hate the arrogant BCS system.

Wow. That is absolute bullcrap. The NCAA already laid down the law. Everyone agreed when teams in the Sun Belt, Mountain West, MAC, CUSA, and WAC had teams in that situation, they shouldn't go to a bowl. In fact, they didn't.

I agree. It's BC$ arrogance that is pushing a sorry Pac-10 team into a bowl game it does not deserve. The Pac-10 is overrated anyways.
You've got it wrong.

You absolutely root FOR ASU tonite, but then against such a stupid appeal.

That sounds a little greedy...this MAC/WMU/Detroit Lions fan rarely routes for anything that is successful. 03-banghead
I expect Arizona to beat the living crap out of ASU tonight, and make this issue moot.

Normally I would agree. However, I grew up out there and this is one of those hated rivalry situations that is pretty intense. It would not surprise me either way, especially after ASU looked pretty good stomping an admittedly mediocre UCLA. Prior to that they lost at USC by 1 and by 4 against Stanford.
Don't bet against ASU!

C'mon Motown, you know I went there strictly for the outstanding graduate program.
ASU 6-0 at the half. 02-13-banana

Sorry WMU. An Arizona loss means another notch up the rankings for the Huskies.
This is a really boring game. Both teams suck right now.

Let me get this straight. You don't want another bowl game for the MAC, you do want to be ranked 1 spot higher in a meaningless poll?

Go Wildcats!
OVERTIME
Double OT
Arizona St just beat Arizona in 2OT, ASU blocked 2 extra points, the last one won the game. Guess we will find out about that ridiculous appeal tomorrow.
ASU wins, this is bad for the MAC if ASU get their waiver. I suspect this effects WMU and another MAC team, either Temple or Ohio.
I hope ASU loses in their appeal.
Arizona drops out of the top 25 now. They're just another average BCS team after getting blown out by Oregon and Stanford and losing to a five-win team with two of their wins over 1-AA teams.

I don't see why the NCAA should grant ASU their appeal. There is no need to as there are already enough bowl eligible teams to fill all the bowl spots.
WMU needs to immediately send a representative to the NCAA to try and block ASU's appeal.
