Sounds pretty cool. I wonder if any rooms will overlook the field ala the Rogers Center.
Begging the question, where exactly would everyone park?

With them flattening out the whole suites area makes it seem very reasonable for them to be looking ahead to build more suites in the future. Ive never been up to Mt Pleasant myself will this hotel be able to continue to fill when the team isnt playing?
I'm not sure if this is a smart a*s comment, but the visiting teams can stay at the hotel on CMU owned land, being taken care of by CMU students (internship opportunities)...

The big, big win for CMU is that the hoteling company will build stadium suites for CMU.

Getting stadium suites for nothing.

I thought a stockbroker once told me: "There are no free lunches on Wall Street"

But I forgot to ask him about Mt. Pleasant. 03-melodramatic

I haven't been to Mt. P in many, many years (I don't live in MI) but Mt. P is interesting because of the casino there.

That said, maybe a CMU person can discuss the Mt. P economy, and travel and tourism.

On football game days, its very hard, if not impossible to get a room unless you have reserved one far in advance.

Also, this would be benefical to anyone coming up to a basketball game night, as it is very close to the new basketball arena also.

I'm not sure what the occupancy rates of the hotels are during the summer for example when school is out, but I would think the draw/appeal of the Soaring Eagle Casino which is close by also, may bring more people to the Mt. Pleasant area in the Spring and Summer. Just a guess on my part though, as I usually am only in town during football weekends.
I've never had a problem getting a room on game days.
And by that I mean, while some near stadium hotel may be booked, another has always had vacancy.
And always close enough to walk across the street to the stadium.

A new hotel would be a nice addition though.
