...demanding copies of Callaway's past contract and his new contract.
Please post them so we can all see what is going on.

While your at it take a look at the women's sports coach's contracts. I know you'll find some interesting details in them.
I will.

I imagine I won't get the new contract until it's approved by the board. They don't meet again until Feb. 3-4. At UAB.
The Freedom of Information Act is a federal law. You need to ask for a copy of the contract under Alabama state law (Section 36-12-40 of the Code of Alabama): "Every citizen has a right to inspect and take a copy of any public writing of this state, except as otherwise expressly provided by statute."
I don't think they will put up a big stink about which law you quote when you request it. Hell, there's a giant book on a chain at the library that lists the salary of everyone working at UAB available for public inspection.
Go to the UAB library. They have a book chained to the desk, and it lists the pay of everyone in the system. It's public record.

Why???
Excellent question.
Maybe he thinks there will be information about the on campus stadium in there. 03-lmfao
I can hear the board meeting now:

Dr Garrison: Members of the board, I would like to propose a new on campus stadium at UAB for Football
Board: Dr Garrison, we hear your request & we need your guarantee that you have no plans to build your football program.
Dr. Garrison: Well, we have extended Coach Callaway's contract out, so is that proof enough?
Board: Request granted.

Not sure how university employee falls into it, but for the education system some personel records are not available for the public. Its a little different for state employees.

The book has everyone who works at UAB in it (at the time it was published). Both Gene Chizik and Nick Saban's contracts were published in the Birmingham News, so they are not secret.
His salary is not the question. It's the details like buyout, guarantees, etc. that are important.

I'm very interested in a comparison between Callaway's buyout vs. the buyouts for the women's soccer and softball coaches.
Well his current (un-extended) contract is already available online for viewing, and we all had a viewing party of it when we were trying to figure out if we could buy him out.
