The Pac 10 lays a major egg this week as UCLA and California each pick up their seventh loss. Tennessee's win over Kentucky allows the SEC to fill all nine of its non-BCS bowls, even as Arkansas and LSU swap destinations. Louisiana-Monroe blew its chance to finish at 6-6, as they fell to Louisiana-Lafayette. The Sun Belt still has a chance to get Middle Tennessee bowl eligible, but right now there isn't room for a third Sun Belt team. Louisiana Tech of the WAC has a chance to get to 6-6, but they need to upset Nevada next week.

The SBC (not Big East) has the secondary tie-in with the Little Caesar's Bowl if the Big 10 can't fill it.
True, so I guess Ohio, Temple, or Toledo needs Middle Tennessee to lose next week given that the Western Bowls will be scrambling for teams. I figured Louisville gets "relegated" to Las Vegas if the Blue Raiders win next week.
Boston College to Music City? No chance. They'll get stuck in San Fran.
This press release from April might cause you to re-evaluate who is filling the MWC slot in the Armed Forces Bowl:

http://www.armedforcesbowl.com/2010/04/b...2010-game/
UConn still has to go to USF and beat the Bulls to win The BEast's BCS too, while WVU is @home against Rutgers. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see WVU-VT in the Orange Bowl, if VT and WVU win their respective conferences...

If FSU wins the ACC, and WVU wins The BEast, I'd expect to see WVU go to the Fiesta Bowl...

If UConn wins, you can book them in the Fiesta. But WVU could end up in the Orange Bowl against the Hokies, which is a very likely possibility. That game would probably sell out shortly after being announced...

The "BEast". 03-lmfao

Are you suggesting 2 Big East schools in BCS games?

03-no

Ain't gonna happpen.

And isn't anyone else disgusted that Boise gets left out after beating VPI, plus UConn might get in after losing to Temple?

Army had both the Armed Forces Bowl and Military Bowl logos on their site last week.

Uhh....NO! The Big East gets 1 (ONE) BCS invite this year and they don't (DO NOT) deserve it. And no, the ACC doesn't deserve one either.

Read my words again, and see if I suggest that anywhere in there. Every statement was prefaces with the word IF, which we all know is one of the biggest words in the English language...

I think you need some glasses, dude. Either that or you need to read what the words really say, instead of jumping to conclusions after a quick scan in which you don't actually read anything in depth. You ignored the content of my message altogether with your rant over BS...

Rebel

The "BEast" 03-lmfao lost all teams that would give them two teams BCS games to the ACC.

Rebel

The f'n SEC doesn't even get that unless they have one in the NC. ....and the NC is as far as finding a Unicorn to the "BEast". 03-lmfao

Army's 2010 tie-ins to those two bowls are conditional on the conferences not having enough bowl-eligible teams, and the Military Bowl tie-in is conditional on the Armed Forces Bowl not picking Army.

With TCU getting a BCS bid, the MWC is not able to fill all of its bowls, so Army's agreement with the Armed Forces Bowl kicks in. The only way that Army is not going to Dallas is if the Armed Forces Bowl works a trade with some other bowl and it's conferences.

Oh, I read what you wrote, and I'm familiar w/ the English language. If you meant something else, you should have written that instead.

My rant? "Ain't gonna happen" is a rant?

Please, if I really rant against you, you'll be drowning your sorrows in moonshine because most of the words will be unfamiliar to you, and the few you do understand will highlight your ignorance, hostility, and a host of other primative traits that will shame you even in Appalachia.

Have a nice day bitcruncher. :)

And when was Mississippi last relevant in the SEC, having a national title contender?

Oh wait. It's NEVER happened... 05-stirthepot

Oh, so you have to be a national contender to be relevant? Wow. So only two teams are relevant year in and year out. That it? Damn, who buncha nobodies out there, huh?

As for National Championships, '58, '59, '62.
That's the argument currently being used against The BEast, Reb. And ancient history doesn't count. This is a "what have you done for me lately" crowd today...

However, The BEast did have 2 BCS worthy teams in 2005 and 2006, with WVU and Louisville, both of whom won their BCS bowl games during that period. Did we get 2 in? No. A mediocre Illinois team was chosen to the Rose Bowl and promptly got stomped...

I don't listen to you - or the rest of the nation - when it comes to opinion discussions about The BEast. None of you have a clue...

Rebel

Ok, well last year we went 9-4. The year before we went 9-4. We beat a #7 Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl and, IIRC, a #10 Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl. We then lost a TON of people. Every team has to rebuild every once in a while.

03-weeping 03-weeping Since you don't agree with someone else's opinion, you are taking your ball and going home. How mature of you.

I am not discounting anything that the Big East has done in the recent future, but I just happen to be talking about this season and this season alone. This season, the big east does not have a bcs worthy team.
