Milligan 2010-2011 Schedule

Milligan 2010-2011 Roster
Last year we won by 52.
What?
That's good hustle on the Wadood Abides handle. I bet you'd be stoked if the white Russian on the team got more burn...

Yes, I know Poderis is Lithuanian. I had to work within limited confines on that joke.
Hubbard still on bench; rested Bucs take on Buffs

The East Tennessee State basketball team shouldn’t have much trouble getting by without Tommy Hubbard today, but coach Murry Bartow is concerned about what lies ahead for his senior forward.......

Really beginning to wonder how much of Tommy Hubbard we are going to see this season.
Redshirt anyone?
Thought it was a little odd to see Hubbard get 21 minutes against Murray St. and then not play at all against Tennessee Tech.
Sigh.......... I hate to have been right about this.....

Here is what I wrote on Oct. 22, just after the Bluenanza thing:

Quote:Prediction, which I've been holding back: Hubbard won't be as fully recovered as much as they have been saying as quickly as they've been saying....

Now, over a month later, I submit we were actually lied to. Yes, that's strong language, but what Tommy had done just can't be recovered from so quickly. I also submit that we may not have gotten the *exact* full information on the reason for the scoping.
I'll even go so far as to say we were lied to two years ago about how soon he could return to action.

We all remember how overly optimistic (naive?) Paul Hamilton was. I submit that this is not the same thing with bartow. I'm not sure of his motive(s), but his initial (public) assessment about Hubbard's quick return was simply not believable, nor totally factual.
Without question, as Poster' seemingly forebode, there's been a shift in language with respect to Hubbard's injury.
When have you EVER seen Murry use this language about a player, then actually see him play. It's always a redshirt.
Well it looks like we may have found that elusive excuse for not doing well this season....
Poor Milligan... this is not fair. This game needs a mercy rule...50-14. This has to be the most lopsided game of all time.
Apparently ASun.tv decided to mercy rule it for those of us that paid to watch it online. Game went out at 40-14 and hasn't come back on yet.

Anybody else currently having issues with the worst online TV product ever made?

EDIT: Back on with 30 secs. left in 1st half. I guess it's cool to space out on your customers for 1/4th of the game.
I had one season of ASun TV and gave up on it. The audio is free and this year it's working better than ever...just get the stream from the flagship...

Curtis looked like a player. With all of the caveats due to level of opposition, he made some big plays.

Micah was red hot early. Tubbs took time to find the handle, but made some pretty shots later. Isaiah looked like a star.

I hate to say it but AJ Johnson may be a waste of a scholarship. He won't give us anything meaningful this year. Shame that he and Poderis didn't redshirt. Both could have used a year of weights and maturation.

Good observations. The new big three you have identified as Micah, Justin, Isaiah. I'm still hoping the Sollazzo can start shooting. He is a guy who can play almost any position...he can rebound, shoot the 3 a little, ball handle is ok, fast break ok.

My favorite part is about the Milligan game is 47 percent from 3-point range. Even though Milligan doesn't guard much...it does show potential from the three which will be a huge asset if ETSU can get it going against D1 competition.

Go Bucs. It time to see what we have as the competition gets a tad more serious. Bring on the Flyers!

Curtis definitely made a statement today - he won't get that offensive against better competition, but the thing I liked best about him today is that he hit free throws. So even if he's not putting the ball in the hoop, he can give you something there, and he was aggressive on the boards. Yes it was Milligan, but he needs more than 0-2 minutes per game. Also nice to see Micah heating it up.

However, especially in the 2nd half, Milligan was getting some good looks from 3; at one point coming out of the timeout, the word from the bench was that we needed to tighten up just a little bit because "even though Milligan isn't hitting them, it doesn't mean that another team won't." 03-banghead

I guess the only guy in the building that doesn't see the sad irony in that statement is the guy who made it in the first place. EVERYBODY hits them against us! Milligan was chucking it from 3 about 80% of their possessions; they hit a few, missed a lot, but if THEY'RE getting good looks, what do you think Belmont or Lipscomb are going to do? It's not like we haven't seen that movie before either... I just don't get it. 01-wingedeagle

Happy about the blowout win (even though it doesn't count come tourney time), and especially liked what Curtis showed, but jeez... I don't know how much more of this Murry expects us to take. What wasn't working about the press we came out with for the first 5 minutes of the game?
A total waste of a game. You could tell NOTHING from this.
