The coach at Rice is on the hot-seat two years after going 10-3? I think even Callaway would be named "Coach For Life" at UAB if he won ten games in a season. I would probably be so euphoric as to agree.
Damn...Ball State has already pulled the trigger on their coach after 2 seasons.
Outside of Tulsa, Rice has to be one of the smallest universities in Div I football (or FCS or whatever they call it now, if you will).

The North Texas coach broke even & still got fired.

If we use these as a basis for what we do, there should be no question as to what needs to be done.

They finished with a very strong record 2 seasons ago, what was it, 11-1? 10-2? It seems like their collapse came overnight...I was at a loss for understanding what happened to them...But I wish UAB had an athletic department courageous enough to make changes for the betterment of all concerned if a coach or staff entrusted to run a successful program isn't living up to expectations.
I believe their coach (Brady Hoke) went to SDSU after that really good season Matrix.
They had a really good QB that they lost to graduation as well, if I recall.

That's correct. Their new coach (Stan Parrish) was promoted from within with hopes to keep the winning going. Instead they went from a 12-win season to a 2-win season. He's also went 2-30 in his last head coaching gig.
Okay, I see now, I thought that Ball State had the same HC that took them to the 12-win season when the bottom fell out...And some will say that the coach doesn't make a difference..Of course, there's no one on this list that Blazer Nation is interested in pursuing for a future HC, is there? Can't imagine that there is...
