How well do y'all think the Blazers will do this year?
will it be an C*USA champs, NCAA at-large, or NIT bound?

I think an at-large bid would be great for this season.
Mediocre Mike is still the coach... so NIT.
I'm expecting us to be right in the thick of the FN Bubble Watch ® this year, and now that the NCAA has given me 3 shiny new FN bids to hand out, I'm hopeful that we'll be on the right side this time.
He can't be worse than Mark Gottfried or his more evil cousin Rick Stansbury.

I'm gobsmacked they have jobs at the moment. They are terrible.

I don't think you can get a good idea on the team until the non-conference schedule is futher along. This weekend's game is a big test, and there is still Troy and Georgia that will be good test and wins that we need to get. Don't forget the Duke game on the road. We can't lose to many more games this non-conference schedule, to be an at large bid. I think this team will do have a good chance in being a solid CUSA team this year, but only time will tell.
I like the team I saw the second half tonight, but there is still room to improve. Go Blazers!
Ken Pomeroy has UAB going 15-14 (7-9).

If we can go 11-3 in OOC play that would be good. Losing to Duke and either Arkansas or Georgia.

Going 12-2 would be sweet.

Well, after last night's victory, Pomeroy now has UAB going 16-13 (8-8).
Well, Mike Davis is still coach, but my expectations are rising with every win.
Unlike Charlie Brown trying to kick a football, I will believe we are good once the season has ended and our name is called on Selection Sunday. Mike Davis will not fool me again with his early season success. 05-stirthepot

My expectations remain the same as well for basketball
NCAA or Davis needs to be given a warning. No raise, no extension.

Audra Smith needs the same warning.

How many years are left in CMD contract?

Yes! I've been saying Audra Smith needs to be held to the same standards! I want both programs doing well!!!
I expect we'll win 25 games and be on the bubble. With the depth of this years team, I feel like we have a better shot than in past years... if our guys stay out of academic trouble. I think last year we were one guy away from being a tournament team.

Realistically can we win the conference? Probably not, but we should challenge for it at least.
With regard to Coach Audra, I'll point out that her last two recruiting classes have been outstanding. I look to see her do better based on having better players on the bench, better depth. If she fails, that is also a point against her coaching.

Davis's recruiting, well... not so much.

We were definitely an NCAA tourney team last year, with only the players we had on our roster. We played our way out of the tourney, yet again. Our schedule is weaker this year, so we might have to win even more games than last year to get a sniff at the tourney. I just don't see that happening, even with all the promise this team has. We have no size or depth at the PF and C positions. That will bite us in the end. I want and expect the NCAAs every year, but I think we will again be in the NIT, unless we completely fall apart.

im not a big CMD fan, but come on, lets not make it seem like XCMA was much closer to that record then CMD.
review your history and you'll see that in 4 seasons at UAB, XCMA had one season in which his regular season winning percentage was better then CMD's was last year (and that was by just barely more then 1 games difference).

please dont get me wrong, i think XCMA is a better coach and i'd rather have him, and im sure not sticking up for CMD, but i hate when people come back with smarta** comments that dont even hold water
