This is a little old (11/10) but an interesting national perspective from a college football blog. They also do a weekly ranking and currently have NIU ranked #23.
Rankings for a MAC team are nice and all, but the thing that really matters is NIU finally winning the MAC Championship game and, I hope, a berth in the Motor City Bowl. As stated yesterday, the MCB is the best match for NIU, especially in these tough economic times when the school can ill afford to subsidize a bowl invitation. Detroit is close and NIU fans should show up in reasonable numbers.

I want a MAC Championship but the MCB SUCKS!!
Only the stupid MAC would have their Championship game and major bowl tie-in at the same place - ridiculous.
By the books, since his new name is known, he should be banned again. Thats the rules but Im not sure our mods follow them.
