Who here besides some of us older guys knows what the "doll head" was on the basketball court? Another term from days gone by was the "key." Why were they called the "dollhead" and the "key?"

Probably some who only have followed the game since the three point shot and dunking have been legal won't know the answers.
Circle on top of a body = doll head, which also happens to look like a keyhole.

And was especially true when the lane was even more narrow than it is now. It really looked like a doll head and a keyhole. I had you figured for the answer Pappy.
I've always wondered why it was spaced out to curerent dimensions, and also wondered why european lanes are angled out the way they are.
