With Ohio up 31-10 now, it looks like we can most likely prepare to see an NIU vs. Ohio matchup in the MAC Championship.

They announced during the game that this could be Ohio's third time in the last five seasons to make the title game.

Frank Solich has quietly done a good job at Ohio.
yes that's right. if we do it, it will be our third MAC East title in five years...and a second straight MAC East title...both unprecedented in Ohio football history. i think we've clinched a bowl game, too, for the second year in a row...another first in school history.

if we can just beat Kent State next week...! 04-rock

OU was so unimpressive against Toledo...
What is going on
Does than mean Toledo and NIU are the 2 best MAC teams this year?
Or are UT and Temple even?
Or is NIU just 1000000 times better than everyone else in the MAC

it means what i've been saying for weeks. you caught us in the second game of the season when our offensive line was really green and we didn't have our dual-quarterback system in place. we are a totally different team now than we were on September 11. that's what it means.
Toledo showed just about 0 offense in that game.
and for a team that gave up what 13 to OU, gave up 65 on NIU.
NIU is by far the most dominant team in the MAC.
I think its very possible Toledo could end up 7-1 and same with OU. If Toledo was in the East then they go to the MACC
Temple recovers the onside kick with 2 minutes to play...OU still with a 14 point lead.....wait a minute, OU picks off another pass......game, set and match, guys.

Congrats to the Bobcats....great win tonight!
OU, you a absolute idiots...you get the INT and then run the ball with less than 2 minutes left and why didn't you take a knee instead of running the ball. How stupid is Solich?????

Everybody is a different team than they were in the second week. Toledo's offense has improved dramatically: OU caught us when our O line was not meshing and we weren't throwing anything downfield-defense was solid until it got totally exposed by NIU so that may be going the other direction. But then I suspect we're not going to be the last team to be exposed by NIU-Harnish is AWFULLY good. If the expected sequence of events takes place the NIU-OU game should be a good one. It will be tough to argue that the best team in each division didn't make the MACC. Congrats, Bobcats!
NIU nearly lost to North Dakota in the second week of the season. So yes, every team is different than they were in the second week.

Miami can still end up 7-1 too. Our chances for a divisional championship took a big hit tonight, but their is still a way. We would need to beat Akron and Temple while OU would have to lose to Kent.
']['emple got owned by you both... Congrats... should be a great game...

Here here for the second tier!

I am not a believer in Miami at the moment. Yes they are the top 5 in the MAC. But I would say after watching the OU vs. Miami game, and then the Miami BG game... Miami needs another year to be atop the MAC again.
This is true, but we still might get to 7-1.

Oh that Toledo caught Ohio on a bad day..
There's a few reasons for what has happened in the MAC this year. One, any MAC team could really beat any other MAC team on any given day/night. 2nd, Ohio is playing much better than they were early in the year. Toledo had been too, until the NIU game, but Ohio had really improved because Boo Jackson started throwing less INT's. Though I don't know if that is just because the other team stopped picking him off, because tonight Temple should have had a couple INT's that they dropped.

Third, Toledo is better than it appears because of the woodshed debacle against NIU last Tuesday night. Ever since I can remember, Toledo has had this problem where they will get blown out against good teams on certain occassions (sp?). Other times they will play good teams and play them tough, and even beat them. But with Toledo you never know when they are about to lay an egg and get beat bad. I could give many examples from the 90's and 2000's of this happening. It's happened with the last three head coaches, going back to the 1991 season. Even in years that Toledo won the MAC Title, there always seemed to be one or two games where they just get embarrassed. Unfortunately it happened against Arizona and NIU this year. Boise State would have blown out any MAC team, so I'm not including that game for this example.

Bottom line, Toledo's blow out losses in games that should be close happen too often....and they don't surprise me anymore.

And I was unimpressed by Toledo against Wyoming. Does that mean that they would finish dead last in the Mountain West? Or does it mean that it was one game and a close one at that? Sort of like Toledo vs Ohio.
So one game doesn't really mean anything? Does that include last night?

it means if OU gets to the MACC and loses to NIU. Toledo may get the second best bowl bid, if both are 7-1. (because of the head to head game, and a loss to Temple appose to a loss against NIU)

Yeah,yeah,yeah... Everybody can claim to be a different team than they were on September 11... Some got better, some got worse... So what's your point, besides insinuating that IF there was a UT-OU rematch, that it would go the Bobcats way...
Oh, and if Ohio does represent The MAC East at Ford Field, be careful of NIU... They are scary good...

I would say so... If that game is played 100 times maybe Temple wins it 80, or Maybe Ohio wins it 80...

The Top Three or four in the east match up well with the top three or four in the west..
