Watching Ark State vs. Middle on ESPN where Hugh is the ASU offensive coordinator. Man his offense is fun to watch. He is one of the most creative offensive minds in the country. Sure wish he was calling our plays.

It makes our offense look like you are watching a snail.

That is how we like to play offensively...One day our lull you to sleep offense will work and we will go up top for the big play.
Freeze was btigers man as I recall.
He would have been a better hire, took lambuth and made them elite in their division thingy
Totally forgot he ended up at stAte after a very shortlived tenure at San Jose St in the offseason. Did take the Red Wolves +1.5 this morning that's looking pretty good.

He was one of my proposals as well. He is going to win whatever he does.
Why did he go from Lambuth to San Jose State to Arkansas State in such a very very short period of time?

Is there something there that doesn't pass the smell test?

Sure as hell couldn't teach. He was my geometry teacher in high school. Never showed up to class, and when he did all he would talk about was how he "knows" Brett Favre. He was a pretty obnoxious guy.

One hell of a women's basketball coach, though.

"One hell of a model American." (-Ace Ventura, describing Ray Finkle)

I got 50 large on the Red Wolves +2. Any team that lost to us shouldn't be favored over anyone, especially on the road.

you can blame the state for making all head coaches be teachers.

He took the San Jose job and then was offered the A State job and took it to stay close to home if I remember correctly. Seems like San Jose has a coach that Hugh knew from Ole Miss or maybe Lambuth.

That's strange b/c you are the first person I have ever heard say anything good about him.
I thought Helton ended up at Arky St? What happened with that?
The man is a coaching genius. Coached boys and girls to state championships in 2 different sports, if I remember correctly. Had an opportunity to meet him a few times and seemed like a fine fella. I know John Harrington at Briarcrest always spoke highly of him and they dont come any better than John. Sorry others dont share my opinion.

So Btiger's choice for our Head Coach at the time is a guy who is now a OC at ASU?....my how far have we fallen...Not that I would mind Freeze being here as a OC.

Helton is on staff at Southern Cal as QB coach.

ASU is laying it on Mid Tenn right now and has scored 51 points. Wouldnt be making fun of ASU, they would spank the Tigers right now.

Just a lot of folks that I know that went to school there and others that taught there didn't speak very highly of him. You are right as far as his ability as a coach is concerned. The phrase I have heard more than anything else about him is "Hugh Freeze never did ANYTHING that didn't benefit Hugh Freeze".
