Their anti athletics agenda continues! For shame!! Why would they be encouraging students to go to a football game?!?! So anti athletics!
Yeah how dare they suggest that NIU students support athletics...DOWN WITH THE STAR
Would love to see this happen so the tailgating lots and the stands are as full as possible for a huge game.
I have grad class, trying to weasel my way out of it, not sure if it's a smart choice, but I'll be at the game one way or another - I wish this game wasn't on a Tuesday, I shouldn't have to make a choice between class & supporting the Huskies. I've been to 22 straight home games
I hope people are joking. Get a grip. This isn't the SEC.
There's not a chance in hell I would be at class on Tuesday night if I lived in DeKalb
So because they don't go to an SEC school they shouldn't support it? Good to know.

Do you have a link for that? Is this a mid-year April Fools? If so, I bought it.

No, but saying you should call off school because a few people want to go to a football game is idiotic. An SEC school would put football first, and does.Hell, they might cancel the whole day. What, maybe 1,000 people will be in class after 5:30, of which 100, 200 at most care about going? Give me a break.

If you go to school at NIU and have class, your decision to make. Perhaps one class doesn't make a difference. You are capable of that decision. But remember why you are there. The school should too.

Part of the college experience is giving a damn about your university, and if canceling a night class can help that, then I fully support it.

Yup. Bigger than an education. And the school should worry about all those students. All for 200 fans.

Ever think that the number of people who WANT to got class for and education or for whatever reason> than those who want to go to the game? I mean 26k students, about 5k a game? Can't be that hard to figure out. Wants of the few outweigh the many I guess.
agreed w/ randyfensfanclub.

Putting education before football should always be the #1 priority (as much as i love the football team). This is on NIU for scheduling a game on a tuesday in the first place.

I agree - if people want to go to the game they should go. Things come up for students all the time who have night classes and they need to make this decision.
Screw class! You live once! You won't remember that class you attended Tuesday night in five years, but you sure as hell will remember the showdown between our huskies and Toledo! ... especially is we kick their a$$
Get students at this game at all costs. I would be in favor of canceling classes the rest of the week if it ensures a packed house. Like the Star said, this publicity of a packed house would do make a big impact on marketing the university. Are we going to make a statement saying this game is a big deal to the unversity or treat it as any other game?
