Ohio ranked 43 in AP preseason basketball poll with 4 top 25 votes. Some respect from last years tournament run in this, but Ohio is the favorite by media to win the MAC. Bobcat are still a very young team. They may be worthy of these ranking by March, but they will have growing pains mixing in the new recruits.
MAC basketball hasn't been interesting in a decade.
Eight years ago, it was the most interesting it has ever been.
Whats Basketball??

It was way more interesting in 2005. It was only interesting for two schools in 2002.
Seems like residual respect. Will Ohio be able to follow up their season with success? Unless they win the MAC tournament, we might not know.

i guess we'll all find out together! 04-cheers
Here's hoping the pendulum is swinging back up for MAC hoops.
Who cares???? Its the pre-season.
You would care if it was Toledo.

Not really because as soon as you lose a non-conference game early, there go the votes.
So? Does it make it any less fun?

What makes you happy? Because you never seem to be.
All of those are from one insane pollster who also voted for Utah State, Old Dominion and Wofford but didn't vote for Baylor, North Carolina, Memphis and Kentucky: Linky
I like this guy giving several midmajors some love at the expense of unethical athletic programs like North Carolina, Kentucky and Memphis. Three programs that have been investigated for NCAA infractions in either football or hoops this year.
For what it's worth, we're #13 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25. Several other MAC teams received votes as well.
Where is KSU on that list?
