News: Rose had a nice preseason, but he didn't show much growth in the expansion of his game.
Spin: Rose is one of the popular kids in the NBA that gets far too much credit for his jaw-dropping speed and flashy plays. For all of his skill and talent, Rose still hasn't shown the ability to contribute in the three-point and steal stat categories, and, until he does, he'll fail to live up to his ridiculous draft position. He isn't worth more than a fifth round draft pick, at best, this season, but people continue to draft him in the third and fourth rounds like clock work. Let someone else reach, and do yourself a favor by picking someone like Russell Westbrook, Darren Collison, Jrue Holiday, or Brandon Jennings whom will all contribute in the three-point and steal categories more than Rose.




The tmoney spin: I guess some of that was about fantasy basketball, and i don't do fantasy sports. D rose needed to work on his 3pt shot during the offseason, but throughout this summer and preseason, it still didn't look good. If he ever develops a consistent 3 pt shot, he will be truly unstoppable. He was 0 for 4 tonight to start out the new season at 0.00% and now 0.25% for his career.

One of derrick rose's brothers needs to fly me into chicago to teach d rose how to shoot the nba 3 pt'er. Of course, this time he pays for the flight.

Fantasy guys hate Derrick Rose as a fantasy player. He's got to learn to hit the 3 ball.

So your down on D-Rose because he didn't produce for you in fantasy basketball in the OPENING game of the year. Gimme a break.

Yeah, ok so his three point shot isn't the best. He's still one of the Top 10 point guards in the NBA today.

Here is one more knock against fantasy sports.

It's not just the first game. He's going to throw up a million points with a good % and dish out assists. He doesn't get steals or 3's. That's why fantasy guys take less talented PG's ahead of him.

Rondo doesn't shoot the 3 either.

Top 10? Top 4-5 I would say. If he gets a 3 pt shot he will be one of the best for years to come.

Agree, but he'll come close to leading the league in steals. Westbrook also doesn't shoot the 3, but he rebounds like crazy and gets a steal here and there as well.

Fantasy basketball might as well be Dungeons and Dragons. And this comes from a devout Fantasy Football and baseball player. Fantasy basketball sucks.

I've never seen Rose play so bad. It was embarassing to watch in the second half. He was hogging the ball, not running the offense and putting up (and missing) crappy shot after crappy shot.

And in real life, d rose needs to learn to hit that 3 point shot. What he does without it is incredible, but once he gets the 3 pt shot down consistently, he will take his game to the next level.
