Here is Arkansas State's. I think the Independence Bowl was inspired by stAte being 11-0 and "nowhere to go".

Also, this isn't the only undefeated season in school history, though obviously it is at the top level.

Hard to believe that they would pick the 6-5 Cajuns from the Sunbelt over the 8-3 Cajuns squad from the Big West.

UTAH STATE CAJUN FIELD L,13-34
Miami-Ohio Oxford, Ohio L,28-29
MEMPHIS CAJUN FIELD W,17-15
SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI CAJUN FIELD W,13-7
Tulane New Orleans, La. W,36-15
Arkansas State Jonesboro, Ark. W,19-3
Northern Illinois Dekalb, Ill. W,33-19
SAN JOSE STATE CAJUN FIELD W,24-13

Florida Gainesville, Fla. L,14-61
Nevada-Las Vegas Las Vegas, Nev. W,31-14
LOUISIANA TECH CAJUN FIELD W,21-17
Yeah, MT has had undefeated seasons, entered the 1-AA playoffs at #1, etc.

I have no issue with them choosing last season, but I'd assumed there'd be a mention of the others.
ULM

2007 season, a year ULM started 0-4, but then went 6-2 to close out the year, including a stunning upset over Alabama; who came into the game as a 24-point favorite.
Odd that Tech gets cited for winning the Division II playoffs, ULM won the next rung up and gets touted for beating Bama.

Would not surprise me if this website does not even know that NLU and ULM is the same school.
According to them WKU has won the FBS championship... now how did I miss that? 01-wingedeagle

Quote:It was the last year Western Kentucky won either it's conference title or the FBS National title.

IMHO the best season for North Texas was 1977 when the team finished the season ranked #16 in the country under coach Hayden Fry.:odie:

I agree. In 1977 we played better teams and won more games. We didn't go to a bowl, but we should have. North Texas has played football for almost a hundred years and these guys act like we were some 1980's DII upstart. The Bleacher Report doesn't know what they are talking about.
Given WKU's first win tonight after 2 years of FBS football, I would have to say this is WKU's best year ever as an FBS program.
