If ever there was a back who benefitted from a QB's presence it was Miquale Lewis- since Davis left he's beena shadow of the back he appeared to be when everyone feared Davis' arm.

Excellent point.

I have a vivid memory of Lewis strutting around after his last minute TD against the Rockets only to have the Rockets score 15 seconds later!!!!! What a game!
This game should give an opportunity to develop a few things. But, if they don't come out fired up and ready to play it could be the greatest humiliation of the season.

Ahh, the benefit of a balanced offence. It really is not surprising what a defence can do to a one trick pony.
Brady Hoke saw the writing on the wall based on Davis' departure.

Hoke is a good coach and good recruiter. He has SDSU really revving. SDSU is a mere 7 points away from an undefeated season. SDSU will be a force in the west very soon.

Nice article! keep 'em coming. I always get the info I need to prep me for the game.

Thanks!
Saw them, be careful!
Ball State is a scary team. They've recruited very well and have some really nice talent. But their coaching is horrible, and most BSU fans will be the first to admit that. Even this year they are still doing a solid job in recruiting. They just don't seem to translate it to the field, except for a game here or there.

I don't think he can tell you but suffice it to say it involves chicken claws, vials of blood and a large boiling pot with secret ingredients. Or maybe that's the tailgate over at the Jambulance- I get them confused.
No chicken claws for the Jambulance! No sir! Only the finest beaks will do...
Speaking of the Jambulance, If duplication is the sincerest form of flattery, then RangerRocket should be pleased. I have noticed the NFL is using a "Fanbulance" in some of their ads. Has anyone else noticed this?

I smell lawsuit!

Don't know about all the NFL teams, but the Eagles Fanbulance has been around for a long time. Much longer than Ranger's Jambulance. My brother-in-law knows the guy that owns it. Back in the early 2000's (maybe 2004) when UT visited Philly to play Temple, he came with it to tailgate with us and we got a couple of pics of Ranger's Jambulance next to it. We were in the parking lot near where the Temple fans would go through to get in the gate to the stadium, so all 5,000 of them went past. Many were pissed to see a Philadelphia Eagles fan siding with the Rocket fans.

I was there in 2005, and IMO, their fanbulance couldn't hold a candle to Rangers rig... Temple fans were fun to tailgate with though...04-cheers

Back then they were pretty equal. Ranger hadn't done a whole lot of upgrades to the Jambulance yet. The Eagles vehicle had a really nice stereo system too. He's not a Temple fan though, it was the first Temple game he had ever been at.

Over the years Ranger has done many upgrades to the Jambulance. Today, I would say it is the premier tailgating vehicle in all of college and professional football.
I'm going to change up and say alot! I went to the Ball State / Western Michigan game. Ball State absolutely self destructed in the first qtr. Kickoff fumbled by Ball State. Western scores quickly. Ball State gets ball. First play is a pass picked off for TD by Western. Score was 21-0 in middle of first period. Here is my point. I didn't see that big of a talent difference between Ball State and Western. What I saw was a team that experienced the "first half from hell". Second half they played Western Michigan pretty much even. Straw that broke the camels back was late in third qtr when Ball State defense stopped Western within the 5 yard line with some great defensive stops. Western line up for field goal and faked it right up the middle on a off tackle play for a TD. Great call by Western. From then on the fight was out of the Ball State dog. This game reminded me how we looked against BSU early in game-shell shocked!! I know they lost to Eastern, but to me that makes them even more dangerous!!!!!!!!! They have nice talent. On a side note, I really liked their weight room and stadium. Meeting room is really weak when compared to Toledo's. Also, it was homecoming and they had a solid crowd that was very interesting to watch as we walked toward the stadium.

Now I will go back to my humble short shots until I feel the urge to splurge.

Rockets beware they are decent!

From what I gather the Cardinals have been hit by a large number of injuries to key players. When you have to play the OL the entire game, it takes a toll - that's what BSU did last week against EMU. Losing your starting center compounds the issue. When your top two offensive weapons are doubtful and questionable, that makes a bad situation even worse. No doubt Ball State is not to be ignored but they have a very battered squad. Top it off with a freshman QB and they will have to play a near perfect game to top the Rockets. Of course Villanova did that to Georgetown in an NCAA championship so anything is possible. Then there's the chance the Rockets that played Wyoming show up for for the game. Let's hope that team is gone and the second half Kent State game's team is ready to play from here on out.
