Good move, will they bring a good number of fans to Jonesboro?

They have a very limited number of choices of "in-state FBS opponents" since U of Ark will not play them.

U of A is the only other in state FBS football team. We would gladly play them. The piggies won't play any in state team in any sport at any level.

The last time we played them was 1997. It still stands as the second largest crowd ever at ASU stadium.

Then it is a good move! If we are going to play FCS programs, if needs to be programs that can bring a good crowd and help make a little money.04-rock

ASU is probably the only FBS school that the Rayzorbacks haven't played.:odie:

And UCA turned back most of its ticket allotment.

We've played Arkansas, it wasn't pretty. That was the team with McFadden.

Wow, I didnt know that. I guess its just FAU that hasnt played them yet.
stAte is probably the only Sun Belt school the Hogs haven't played. I was thinking they were an honorary member of the Sun Belt for a while there.

Well maybe FAU and WKU haven't had the pleasure . . . but it was insulting for them to reach out to ULM and help them with their potential attendance problem by giving them home games in Little Rock, while not doing sh!t to help stAte - not that we want their help - but it was still insulting - since we haven't "earned" the right to play the almighty pigs.
The Hogs have played these Belt teams. (# games in parenthesis)

FIU (1)
ULM (8)
ULL (4)
UNT (9)
Troy (3)
Muts (1)

Hogs have not played.

In 2005, it was kind of funny to see Missouri playing Arkansas State and Arkansas playing Missouri State on the same day.

With a Near Guarantee of 30,000 fans and a possible sell out to boot. Throw in the other scheduled game next year is Memphis at home, and that means that we will have 2 marquee home games fan wise that should make up for the typical November Sun Belt Game drop off...

you can also guarantee that at least 1,000 or so of the fans at the game will be nothing more then curious razorback fans, just because this is such a new concept in this state
UCA, Memphis, and Troy at home should make for a nice attendance average next season.

The top two attended home games of all time are.

Memphis in 2004 (30,427)
UCA in 1997 (29,465)
FIU needs to schedule an early FCS, in-state patsy to get our record respectable (esp. given the Sag' revelations). I'm thinking FAMU or BC-C; maybe Ga. State. 05-stirthepot

I think the Cajuns plays Nicholls State next year to open the season. Not sure that is true, just what i heard. Do you think Nicholls will bring a lot of fans? One good thing, I believe us and ASU will have one extra win next year...
